Going thru previous trips and finding images I haven't posted. This common loon was showing great patience feeding this days old chick. Three time the adult gave the treat, retrieving when the chick dropped it..3rd time was the charm.
My daughter and one of our dogs, perched up on an ottoman on a rainy day, sharing a snack.

Wandering the village with camera in hand when one of our locals appeared looking for a mid day snack. He paid no attention to me as I composed this shot.

Preparing a snack.
Please excuse my "festive" tray, it's the only one we've got and it's nowhere near that time of the year ..... yet!
Plus my not brilliant processing to remove the unwanted background, my mouse has died and I'm having to use the really old one, that's seen better days, until Wednesday.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :)

This is a "SNACK" in Japan, typically run by a female owner who serves alcohol. Karaoke is often available for customers to enjoy. The interior of the bar and the menu are not visible from outside. The establishment is identified as a SNACK by the fact that the female owner’s first name is used as the name of the bar.

I was stalking pigeons this afternoon while Gord was changing my tires from the all-seasons to the winters *cries internally* when this little guy came out from nowhere and perched himself on Madeleine's window sill with a snack.
Immediately my attention turned from the difficult birds to this guy and my shot of the day was found!
He looks perfectly at home hanging out here that it would be hard to resist a photo of him, especially when my camera was in hand!
Hope everyone has had a good day!

Went to a nearby park on New Year's Day and found my first subject of 2026. A cute grey squirrel snacking the morning away.
The young bar-tailed godwit (Limosa lapponica) that stayed on our beach for some time in the end of September.
It came really close to both us who photographed it, and to the hikers. A nice visit from the far north, on its way to the south.

Swallow-Tail Kite grasping some salad greens along with the snack in his talon.
Not a great shot, but it's not often that I get a chance to grab a shot of one with something in its talons...
I was walking into the house this afternoon when some motion caught my eye, I turned around and spotted this little lady on the feeder.
After quickly getting over the shock of actually seeing a bird at the feeder instead of a squirrel I switched lenses and quietly approached the backyard.
Luckily she wasn't too concerned with me and I managed to snap a few shots before someone made a loud noise (Sock) and scared her off.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
