Im Projekt_4D schickt das Deutsche Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt eine Zeitkapsel mit Astronaut Alexander Gerst ins Weltall. Nach der Landung soll die Kapsel 50 Jahre lang im Haus der Geschichte in Bonn aufbewahrt werden, bevor sie dann im Jahr 2068 wieder geöffnet wird. In der Kapsel enthalten sind neben kleinen Symbolgegenständen für Luftfahrt, Raumfahrt, Energie und Verkehr auch Zeit-Dokumente, Wünsche von Kindern und Jugendlichen an die Zukunft und über 2000 Alltagsbilder.

We try to keep a separate cutting board just for onions & garlic & chillie peppers so we don't accidentally infect the rest of our food with those strong flavors.

The stem to which this little tomato was attached was accidentally broken. I brought it in and sliced it for a photo.

Then it joined everything else in the frying pan for breakfast.

I sliced my thumb and my pinky while washing a knife. Ow.

I always find it magical to see a plane passing overhead going to an unknown destination while the rest of us go about our ordinary earthbound routines below.

Today, the upper atmosphere was so still that the contrail of this jet remained intact for miles, looking like a surgeon had sliced the sky with a scalpel.

Started slicing with the knife, but then remembered we have grandma's mandolin. That made for much shorter work and prettier slices! This will be their briny bath home for the next 12 hours.
