Mum needed some more bread to have at work, so I made this devilishly decadent loaf - moist and tender from a milk, honey and banana - yes banana! - base, riddled with toffee bits!

A wholesome, protein and fibre filled dough with soy flour, oats and bran will keep her going well into lunch too!

This Ellen Hutson bear is one of my all-time favorites. Sometimes I buy stamps or dies because I know I'll be able to use them with this bear. I smudged one of the paws so I made an oven mitt using a mitten die. TFL!

I saw this house today and thought it was a perfect example of Americana.

This is the first HDR I have photographed using AEB (Automatic Exposure Bracketing). I think of this as "HDR in a hurry". It is a feature available on various cameras where the next three images you take will be of varying exposures. In this case, I set it up for -2 step (under exposed), 0 (perfect exposure), +2 step (over exposed). I then set the camera to take more than one photo when I depress the camera button once. Once I have these settings, I set up my shot in holding the camera in my hand, hold as still as possible and let the camera take three shots in a row. The trick is to minimize movement between the 3 shots. As this image demonstrates, it can be done.

So, if you're in a hurry or have no tripod, there is still hope for doing and HDR using AEB.

Here is a painting of the house:

Apple pie with vanilla ice cream ($5).

A simple "country" finish, featuring a tender and slightly flaky crust collapsed around loosely sauteed apple slices. I liked the fact that the filling was simple loose rather than filled with a cornstarch-thickened or tapioca-ladened goop. While it didn't change my life, the plate was great to share and a welcomed lift (vs. satiated heaviness) that closed the midday feast.

Another delight is seeing the summer crop of strawberries starting to form on my strawberry plants.

I was just going through some old folders of photos and came across these from a show we did a couple of years ago called A Slice of Saturday Night. I had the best fun doing it and have very fond memories still.

Just thought I'd share a couple of my favourites :)

I was Googling the word "slice" when I can across this article which goes perfect with my image and the topic

The SoFenceSlice node renders a strip (connected series) of oblique slices. The strip is defined by a set of planar 2D vertices that form a polyline in one of the axis planes, for example the XY plane. Each segment of the polyline is extruded along the axis specified in the axis field to form (in effect) an oblique slice. A similar effect could be obtained using volume geometry (e.g. SoVolumeFaceSet ), but SoFenceSlice is more convenient and is optimized for this specific case. oivdoc92.vsg3d.com/Users_Guide/VolumeViz/Slice_Rendering/...

One of my favourite family traditions. Every year we slice off a piece of our Christmas tree and add it to our collection. Here's the new addition from 2016 with the others from previous years.
