Since the Mandalorian Season 2 finishes today, I decided to make a Mando and a character from each episode this season! Slight spoilers if you haven't kept up, obviously. I did take these pictures earlier this week, so I had to guess who would be in the last episode, but Moff Gideon ended up being a pretty safe bet haha.

Top:

Din Djarin, Cobb Vanth, and Frog Lady (and children)

Middle:

Bo-Katan Kryze, Carson Teva, and Morgan Elsbeth

Bottom:

Boba Fett, Migs Mayfeld, and Moff Gideon.

Since 1992 there's been a tradition at the Diamond Crest Cemetery in Johnstonville (California USA) known as The Avenue of Flags. A bunch of wonderful folks have donated over 300 American Flags and twice each year, on Memorial and Veteran's Days, another bunch of wonderful folks put them up for several hours. It's definitely something to behold and a great place to ponder the sacrifices made by so many to keep Old Glory flying over our wonderful land!

God bless America and may we never forget those who've given us so much!

Since I couldn't decide here is a collage of the 4 best pictures

Since the (pre)Roman times along the river of Brenta a road connection between the Po river plane and northern alpine countries goes. In times when Venice was prospering (and being built) the village was important also for transporting timber from the Asiago plateau.

Ever since I first saw Steven Marshall's folly I've wanted to use his brick technique on a larger scale.

The building is based on artwork for the P'Jem Monastery from the TV show 'Enterprise'.

since i don't have that many of Frozen, they have joined our family :) really adorable fake wedding costumes.

Since the sun was low and it was freezing cold the colors and long shadows came out very nicely.

Da die Sonnen noch tief lag und es eiskalt war, kamen die Farben sowie die langen Schatten perfekt zum Vorschein!

It's been a few years since I last walked around Hengistbury Head. After walking for a while around the beach, I could see that a chance of a sunset was going to be pretty slim so I walked around the area on the other side of the head and through the water reeds and found this little spot.

Since the NS did not make their usual Saturday deliver to the Delmarva Central RR over the weekend, two shortlines were screwed as a result. On Monday the DCR Seaford Job had no cars to peddle that morning and we were lucky the MDDE had 1 car from the DCR interchange to return to Federalsburg with. That being a load of steel beams for a distributor. PSR at its best. On Monday the NS delivered 152 cars (2 normal deliverys) to the DCR for distribution on the Delmarva Peninsula - and that train was nearly 6 hours late. NS is the only outside connection to the world for these two shortlines.

Since the dragonball Z toys like to battle, I was playing with the idea of battles on the London Underground. I liked the idea of battle of the free presses, so thought that this was an apr representation of this!

This shows the extreme depths we go to to get the angle - this waterfall is so difficult to get thE right angle with out putting your self and gear at risk - today i chose to play safe and tackle it from different angles to my usual mad spots - the sun was rising as i got here :-)

Long since scrapped, but this was seen outside an infamous house near Lewisham which had a duo of MKV Cortinas and a B11 Sunny Estate all in various states of non use. The Cortinas were matching too, so likely some pretty interesting story behind them.

A recent(ish) visit to the same property suggests that all bar the B11 have now been scrapped/sold on. I used to see lots of shabby houses with equally shabby cars in London but they've for the most part disappeared in most areas.

Since I still have a significant backlog of images from Iceland, sometimes - instead of going through them one after another - I look through them randomly to see if any stand out, and this time it was one from the beautiful Hraunafossar which we visited at the end of our trip.

After we enjoyed a quick dip in the hot water of the Búðardalur hot pot, which was on our way from the Westfjords to Reykjavik, we continued our drive through the amazing landscape and decided to make a short detour to the Hraunafossar. From the parking lot, it was only a short walk to the viewing platforms where you can see turquoise water coming out of the porous black lava which is covered with beautiful greenery. Every time I arrive at epic locations, I kind of feel overwhelmed and need a little time to find some compositions that work, but in this case I have to give credit to my girlfriend for spotting the composition you see here, which I shamelessly stole from her (after politely asking of course).

Taking this image wasn't easy as we were standing on a wooden floor that was shaking when people were walking over it (we could have moved a little to the side, but then the angle was not ideal and trees in the foreground blocked the view a bit) and since it’s not too far away from Reykjavik, I guess you can image how many people visit this location. I also had to zoom in to 200mm to isolate the waterfall and using filters to get a longer exposure together with the occasional wind gusts made this composition not easy to get.

After getting at least one sharp image, I noticed that my girlfriend was struggling with sharpness and soon we identified the problem: Her tele lens does not have a tripod collar and she didn’t have an L-bracket at that time. This means that - in order to take a long exposure in portrait orientation - she had to tilt the ball head of her tripod to the side, where the weight of the camera and lens caused the camera to move down introducing some blur in her images. At first we thought that the reason might be her cheaper tripod, but then I gave her my tripod with which she got the same blurry images. This meant that the only reason could be the small tripod plate on the bottom of her camera, and it only took a quick look to see that it was noticeably shifted. Fortunately, I had another spare tripod plate with me and using this together with my tripod made it possible that she also got the result she wanted. After spending way to much time at this location, we continued upstream to see the Barnafoss as well. Finally, we got a coffee at the restaurant next to the parking lot before we continued to the Reykjavik campsite with a slightly sad feeling that our trip goes to an end. I hope you like it!

PS: Thanks again to my girlfriend for having such an amazing eye for compositions and for letting me steal this one. If you have some time, I think she would really appreciate it if you would also check out her images: www.flickr.com/photos/193130995@N02/

I guess since this just popped up on my screen and I'm heading to American Canyon to check on the heron, I thought I would post this 'Killdeer' from earlier this year and I did see one yesterday...:)

It's going to be a scorcher here today!!

Ever since I was a kid growing up during the sixties seeing street performers in New York City parks and sidewalks has been an integral part of the city's cultural life. I tend to appreciate than most people as in my time I have enjoyed music from Cajun music, country music venues, operas to body slamming people to heavy metal and punk music in mosh pits. Although the last part I haven't done since the eighties because at my age I prefer to comfortably sit.

Am Mittwoch waren Tina und ich im Studio um ein wenig auf den Spuren des Tanzes zu wandern. Unsere letzte Zusammenarbeit ist nahezu 2 Jahre her. Ich genieße all diese langen Zeiträume des Teamworks mit all den Menschen vor meiner Kamera. Ich freue mich schon auf die nächste Frage von irgendjemandem, Henning wollen wir nicht mal wieder.. Ich hätte da eine Idee..

Since I came across stripey.suze's photos I've made a point trying a lot of my shots in a square crop. This is the first one that I've found to fit the aspect quite nicely.

Rather annoyingly, this is another shot that seems to be better than most of the stuff I've taken with my 50d

Platja de Formentor, Mallorca, Spain

Ever since Jonas Wide's Fighting Pit of Mophet I've wanted to visit the concept myself, and the Guilds of Historica Ancient Wonders category sent me back to the idea. Plus it coincided with a burst of inspiration triggered by all the epic Summer Joust builds we were treated to a few months back. So I decided to do my best to build The Fighting Pit, not just of some town like Mophet or Kaligem, but THE Fighting Pit of the entire guild. How'd I do? ;)

This build took me four or five weeks and uses hands down the most minifigures I've ever used in a single MOC. Take a look at the time lapse video (do take a look, the first minute is pretty cool...) or all the extra pictures on my blog.

i took this in broad daylight in the bedroom but finn was looking directly into the main beam of light coming in the window, so the bground was totally lost. neat huh ? i think this one is worth taking the time to view the large version.

oh, i also like how the windowblinds cast a few stripes across his head. i didn't even notice at first, since he's already a very stripey boy to begin with.

this photo was originally untitled and i asked for suggestions - here are some of them:

Since it's a double, maybe this counts as a complete one...

Been a while since I've got a whole clear night to do some shooting. Got skunked last weekend up in the mountains, cloudy all weekend at night, so I spent yesterday watching the IR satellites trying to decide whether or not risking another trip up there. Wasn't looking good with the monsoonal moisture we've been getting every day here in Utah so instead I decided to make the quick trip out to Delle and shoot the infamous bus. Moon was just about set so I decided to get snapping so I could get the Rho Ophiuchi Complex still in the sky, it's getting later in the year now and there's limited time before that region sets below the horizon. Used some small puck lights to illuminate the interior of the bus and my red headlamp to light myself up. Exterior lighting is caused by the truck stop that's a few hundred yards away.

6 shots for this image, 4 for the sky, 2 for the foreground, all shot consecutively with no gaps in time/tripod location. Shot with a Nikon D800E on a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer tracking mount, sky shots are 2 minute exposures at ISO 800 and f2.8, foreground shots are 2 minute exposures at ISO 400 and f2.8. No stacking done, just stitching to create a wider field of view.

In and out since 7/27/08

I ,a shy and quiet boy since young, was a target of the bullied throughout my 8 years of childhood. The memories of being bullied continuously have had a little or more effect on my confidence and activeness. I shut myself off from the society, claimed myself a weak person and brought myself with a gloomy, tired and scary look.

I’ve never believed in myself…

I came to photography when my dad lent me his camera when I was 6. From the first clicks, I already felt "this is where I belong". Photography helps me recreating the world seen through my eyes and felt by my soul, helps me remembering faces, smiles, memories of a passing time. And it even reminds of the things which are supposed to be forgotten.

I chose dark art because dark art is a fine illustration of the world I am seeing - a world of melancholy and sadness. Through dark art, I can dig deep into the darkest place of a human, right there, people are living in the own nature: weak, crazy and also vulnerable. Being an introvert person, dark art is also a way of relieving the soul, showing people who I am, what I am and what I’m capable of - something that I rarely share with anybody. As a result, I became more open with everyone, gave more laughs and talked more to the people around me. "You look way more better then?" - my friends said in satisfaction.

I never stop doubting myself ...

I’ve been reeling from my "what should I do" and "I’m not good enough" thinkings, which makes me deviate from my original path. Always wish to be like other photographer pals: big relationships, big interacts and having a support team while I am alone all the time,… I gradually forget that I’ve lost myself, forgotten that my path was different from all of them. I am an independent existence, I exist uniquely and I should’ve not been anyone’s copy. It’s been a difficult time right now, I was once again separated myself from everyone, even the ones I love so much. Always bringing suspense and fear of any situations. And even when writing these words, those emotions are making my hands shake and my heart beats so fast.

I know that there aren’t any obstacles that cannot be overcome if I dare to face, and I know that nothing can stop me if I truly believe that I can do it in my heart. However, "How?", "How can I really believe in myself?”, "How can I become more confidence?", "How can I make this? "How can I do that ...?", “How…?”, “How…?” and "How ...?". I’ve spent a great deal of time resting, thinking and rearranging things that were still unfinished. Those fears are still here, those thoughts are still here, and the answer I still cannot find out but at least this time I will try, something at least makes me feel better. And I hope someday I can find my own answer and be happy with it.

since this little stream formed here back when we were having real bad floods months ago i've always wanted to shoot there and i eventually did. it was wet and muddy and cold.

yesterday was great. work today was tiring. and i'm back to college tomorrow.

After a string of 4 clear nights in late March, it's been a long time since we have had a stretch of clear moonless nights. So no astrophotography for me…

In the meantime, I had upgraded one of my astro cameras to a new camera known as the ZWO ASI2600MM-Pro. This is a mono camera based on a new generation of larger APS-C size sensors. It offers much higher resolution, a full 16-bits of dynamic range, outstanding noise characteristics, and a much deeper well capacity (which means I can overexpose bright areas of the image - stars - much more before I saturate the sensor). This was also a bigger and heavier camera and I needed to rework my rig to balance things out. I have been eager to test this out.

Recently I had that chance. Choosing Messier 63 - the Sunflower Galaxy as my target I took over 15 hours of exposures through Luminesce, Red, Green, Blue and Hydrogen-Alpha filters over the nights of May 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th. I thought I had clear nights but it turns out that thin clouds passed through on EVERY night - enough cloud to mess-up my exposures but not enough to shut things down. I inspected every single frame and I ended up throwing out 5 HOURS of data due to "Cloud Pollution". I got to tell you - that HURTS.

So about our Target…

I have captured M63 before and I wanted to see what difference I could make with a new camera and a bit more experience under my belt. I am very pleased with the result of my first effort with this camera. Good detail, excellent color.

Located 29.3 Million Light Years away, this is what Wikipedia has to say about M63:

Messier 63 or M63, also known as NGC 5055 or the seldom-used Sunflower Galaxy,[6] is a spiral galaxy in the northern constellation of Canes Venatici with approximately 400 billion stars.[7] M63 was first discovered by the French astronomer Pierre Méchain, then later verified by his colleague Charles Messier on June 14, 1779.[6] The galaxy became listed as object 63 in the Messier Catalogue. In the mid-19th century, Anglo-Irish astronomer Lord Rosse identified spiral structures within the galaxy, making this one of the first galaxies in which such structure was identified.[8]

The shape or morphology of this galaxy has a classification of SAbc,[5] indicating a spiral form with no central bar feature (SA) and moderate to loosely wound arms (bc). There is a general lack of large-scale continuous spiral structure in visible light, so it is considered a flocculent galaxy. However, when observed in the near infrared, a symmetric, two-arm structure is seen. Each arm wraps 150° around the galaxy and extends out to 13,000 light-years (4,000 parsecs) from the nucleus.[9]

M63 is a weakly active galaxy with a LINER nucleus – short for 'low-ionization nuclear emission-line region'. This displays as an unresolved source at the galactic nucleus that is cloaked in a diffuse emission. The latter is extended along a position angle of 110° relative to the north celestial pole, and both soft X-rays and hydrogen (H-alpha) emission can be observed coming from along nearly the same direction.[10] The existence of a super massive black hole (SMBH) at the nucleus is uncertain; if it does exist, then the mass is estimated as (8.5±1.9)×108 M☉,[11] or around 850 million times the mass of the Sun.

Since moving to Cornwall, I’ve swam at least once a week in rain , hail or shine ! The metal and physical health benefits have really changed my life …it’s an amazing community and I’ve made so many friends, I really wanted to show the joy of sea swimming for one of my uni projects in this image.

since its a fly for Flyday (Singapore time) ...

I have not ended my texture set, hence, my macro will be presented to you in this manner again. Hope you don't mind.

Have a great weekend ahead my friend!
