MISSES’ ONE-PIECE DRESS – (INCLUDING SIMPLICITY’S PERSONAL-FIT TISSUE CHART):
Shift dress has lowered round neckline, short raglan sleeves, back zipper closing, top-stitching trim and optional tie belt. V. 2 has collar. This pattern includes an extra feature for those people who require personal-fit at waist and hip. The waist and hip can be made larger (or smaller) than regular size of this pattern.
This is my best example of simplicity. I really like how the image is solely just a book and a heart-shaped from the pages of the book in front of a blank wall and creating a sense of focus on the book itself. To create contrast within my image, I used the monochromatic profile to create a subtle white tone to the image, and I decreased the highlights in order to create a balance between the darkness of the book and the lightness of the background. The mood I was trying to create was simple yet unique in order to display a love for reading and books.

Interesting styling in a junior frock that boasts cap or push up sleeves. The one shoulder yoke is decorated with three button tabs, a wide fitted belt gives you a wishbone-tiny waist. The bias cut skirt is wonderfully full and is the new ballerina length.
One of my tried and true go to patterns. Simplicity 2975 in knit!
Pants are a really nice pinstripe, even though you can't see it. Vogue 1051, my favorite slacks pattern.
Simplicity 7252; ©1967; Juniors' and Misses' Dress in Two Lengths: The collarless dress with lined yoke has high round neckline, set-in sleeves and back zipper. This is my best example of Simplicity. I really like this photo because the pottery guy in right in the center and the quality of this photo is very clear. To create contrast in my image I had my exposure at -0.76, contrast at -12, and highlight at -49. Also, i put the temp color at 5043k, tint at +7, and saturation at +12. The mood I was trying to create was funny but some people could also find this image creepy.
bodice: Amy Butler. skirt panels: orange Katie Jump Rope and vintage small orange flowers. pocket and ruffle: Moda polkadots.
Description: Wearable Muslin - Simplicity 1887 Shorts View C
Date Completed: 13th July, 2012
Pattern: Simplicity Pattern from the Remnant Warehouse
Fabric: Cotton (?) from the Remnant Warehouse
Comments: Woohoo, another wearable muslin. The fit of these shorts are FANTASTIC. I normally have problems buying shorts, so I am pleasantly surprised that these fit so well straight out of the packet. I guess having elastic on the back (only the back, not the front) makes it easier to fit?!
However, my only concern is that I couldn't figure out how to finish/attach the elastic to the waistband facing, which I've fudged here. Still wearable, but I need to sort it out before making another 2 pairs (which I have already bought the fabric for)!
Changes to Pattern None. Although I left off the ties on the waist.

If there’s one thing Brett Amory isn’t doing right now, it’s waiting. Debuting this month at The Outsiders gallery in Newcastle, UK, Amory’s new collection Waiting 101 explores in its subject matter the everyday quiet often lonely moments in life, through the very social medium of art and technology. Amory is best known for his Waiting series, which has spanned the last decade and delves deep into the shared psyche and simplicity of city life. But for now, he’s not waiting. He’s launching the collection in Newcastle, jetting around Europe, and putting up some seriously cool works along the way. Warholian finally caught up with him to speak with him about the exhibition.
