I'm pretty strong in my assumption that scallops are too cloying and sweet for me to pull off--but the full-skirted view? with the peppermint red and white color combo and the flower at the waist the the pleats in the lightweight overlay? Love.

I really liked the idea of this pattern. It's nice to have something that's easy to care for, made of fleece but doesn't look like you just walked out of the gym. The pattern has 4 jacket versions and a (rather hideous) vest option. I've never sewn with fleece before so I bought some less expensive mint colored fleece and a slightly more expensive fleece in a deep plum shade. My plan was to sew my second choice jacket designs with the green to get my feet wet with fleece, before cutting into the purple fabric.
I don't hate the end result but it's definitely not as nicely designed as I would have liked. My biggest issues are that it's just plain fussy to put on, the collar is a single, unfaced layer and rolls if it's not laying just so, the little accent bow does the same thing. The inner facings are all over the place. You really have to put it on and check that everything is in order instead of just tossing the jacket on and going.
My other issue is that the cross back measurement is too wide for my taste, by probably a full 2"/5cm. Jackets are generally cut like this to give room for layering, but I'm a hussy and wear mostly slim fitting clothing. On me, the shoulder seams fall off my shoulders and the look is a little sloppy.
The other thing to be aware of, which has more to do with my crappy skills than the pattern, is you really need to know which seams will be unfinished in the final product so you don’t cut those edges like you were a few sheets to the wind before you started. Fleece isn’t very forgiving in that sense.
I may still sew the other version of this jacket that I like a little better. If I do, I'll narrow the front and back pieces, mid shoulder (so I don't have to monkey with the fit of the collar or sleeves) and I may find a better way to keep the inner facings in line. I'm not an expert enough seamstress to go too crazy with mods but I think the pattern is salvageable.
Simplicity 7458; ©1967; Young Junior/Teens' and Misses' Blouse: (Including Tissue Lesson-Chart ... "How to attach collars"). The blouses have high round neckline and front button closing. V.1 & 4 have short set-in sleeves with turn back cuffs. V.2, 3 & 5 are sleeveless. V.1 & 2 have Bermuda collar. Collarless V.3 has top-stitched patch pocket. V.4 & 5 have shirt-type collar with optional top-stitching. V.4 has button trimmed shoulder tabs and contrasting collar.
This is the second time around with this dress pattern. Made in a beautiful ponte knit from Tessuti.

Neckline is too wide. I plan to re-draft bodice pattern and bring neckline in 1.3cm on each side.
I like simplicity, and this photo showcases that. The soft blues and browns in the background. The leading lines created by the barbed wire. The simple rule-of-thirds composition.

I made the wrap version, with the short sleeves and the belt.
The fabric is a cotton voile from Westminster Fibers, in a colorway that is ideal for someone with three black and white dogs.
I thought the fabric would be too sheer to wear without a slip or lining but it turns it's absolutely fine without, which is great. This a perfect summer dress.

Miss Simplicity was produced as an amateur theatrical for the Bank Officers Association at the Tremont Theatre in Boston in 1901. The musical comedy was built around Julian Eltinge (1881–1941) as the ingenue lead.
By the time the New York production was mounted, the show had been rewritten as a vehicle for comedian Frank Daniels (1856–1935) in a role not in the original production. (Eltinge remained in Boston, his role now assumed by a female player.) It toured extensively from September 1901 to February 1902, then played at the Casino Theatre from 10 February to 29 March 1902 for 56 performances before going on tour.

This image made me think of summer nights. The simplicity of the photo only contribute more to that feeling. I added a little bit of purple color because I thought that it really made the photo aesthetically pleasing.
