“If something seems too hard, let go. It is the hardest and yet the most simplest thing to do, but in letting go we acknowledge that that certain something was never meant for us and trying to cling on just brings about more unhappiness, not only to us, but to others too. Today I find that the one who understands me most is not the one I love the most, nor is it someone who loves me the most … matters of the heart are felt not heard and though the silence is deafening I am grateful to the one who found me there and brought me back.” - AP

PEOPLE – SOPHIE ZELMANI
The air is blue
surrounding me instead of you
my heart stops still
the echoed beat sounds in my ear
and all I know and all I fear
comes rushing; rising through my veins
and I am me and all the pain
I ever felt leaves me alone
to stand here chilled to aching bones
frozen in this quiet moment
solitude that feels so numb
the memories that leave me wanting
you instead; to bring you home
ssh! Silence! I thought I heard a noise
someone standing close to me
breathing warm air on my neck
the tiny hairs so tenderly
rise up like flowers that reach for light
for sunshine and the stars so bright
I lit a candle but a breeze
so swiftly blew; I felt my knees
buckle under and pull me down
in darkness praying for a sign
that all was well with you and me
I peered into the space beside me
sensing there was someone there
someone who might hear my prayer
I spoke aloud and closed my eyes
hoping this feeling would subside
but still an uneasy suffocation
hands round my throat; a choking sensation
but it was just my imagination
there was nothing left to fear
surely not in this place so holy
where so many parishioners found their peace
and minds were stilled and melancholy
was taken away; replaced with grace
I felt the cold winds turn around
the sound of changes ringing
the warm stones softened underground
I heard the sounds of angels singing
it was very distant; a gentle hum
but comforting it achieved it's mission
to heal the wounds of heart and soul
my prayers were answered; I just listened
no need to beg; no need for words
all is known; our prayers are heard
and we are redeemed from all our sins
are freed from all our mortal whims
the things we ask and do not receive
perhaps they are just not meant to be
the difference between need and greed
the planting of a beautiful seed
we may want and we may ask
we may feel some is a daunting task
but simply letting go of ego
let go of self and freely go
how wonderful it feels to me
to know this simple way to be
and I will remember it all my days
when I found freedom from my ways.

Even one of the simplest and common phenomenon can be hard to describe from a mathematical and physical point of view. The patterns and shapes of the drop impacting a liquid surface can be amazing and it changes randomly every time. This photo has no manipulation, just crop.
Gear:
Canon EOS 550D + EF70-300 L IS manually focused, row shooting mode, water, a fountain with red fish and turtles, lots of patience.

“Why is it,” Jonathan puzzled, “that the hardest thing in the world is to convince a bird that he is free, and that he can prove it for himself if he’d just spend a little time practicing? Why should that be so hard?”

Beauty is all around.
Seen in big and small items, in big and small places.
Its found in the simplest of things, such as a flower.
Flowers are formed in many shapes and sizes, through many patterns and colors.
But every single one is beautiful in their own unique way.
Just like people.
We come in many shapes, sizes.. patterns and colors.
We are all beautiful in our own, and special unique way.
Sometimes its hard to see though… it may be shielded, or covered.
Covered by pain or shyness.
Then sometimes its noticeable, and direct.
But beauty doesn’t just come from the outside; it also has to be from the inside as well.
And every single one of us on this earth has some sort of beauty.
For some though, it is harder to find, but be sure that its there somewhere.
And I know you will be able to find it in yourself.

The human spirit is a very strange and complex thing. Sometimes you can be greatly moved by the simplest of things, (a smile from a stranger, a Childs drawing, a simple act of kindness from an unexpected source), but consequently you can be in a stereotypically wondrous place and feel, tired, stressed, unhappy, pressured into feeling good. The same is true with regards photographic locations. You can be presented with a wondrous vista and find difficulty with photographic inspiration. It really does all come down to your unique personality, your own feelings.
This particular morning there was no question of any melancholy feelings, my emotions were on overdrive with frantic excitement, ecstatic, joyous and childlike wonder. I’m sure the rarity of snow in the UK contributed to my elevated feelings on this, the first snow of the year, but my overwhelming feelings towards it were drawing on childhood memories of overwhelming excitement. My own past experiences were playing a big part in how I was feeling at this moment in time, (even thought I was there for a very different photographic purpose, I didn’t have a sledge and I didn’t make a snow man on this morning), but it is the emotions that I felt there and then, that needed focusing on in the construction of this image. As photographers we not only need to enjoy the experience, but try to tap into these emotions for the benefit of the photographic viewer. Try to consider the way your images stimulate not only your own emotions, but the viewers own past experiences too.
Anyway for me this solitary tree made a convenient graphical composition in eager anticipation of the impending sunrise. My fingers and toes were almost solid ice at this point, but I’m sure Wayne (my ‘almost’ adult photographic companion) found my dancing around trying to keep warm rather funny...Hopefully when I’m old and unable to sprint across a frozen field, whilst trying to set a camera and tripod up with throbbing fingers, frantically trying not to miss this momentary spectacle before it quickly passed, I will look back with rose coloured spectacles, I will enjoy the memories of this morning... I wonder?
Oh yes, I nearly forgot, happy snowball fights and Christmas joy...just keep safe over the holidays, I’ve just spent 24 hours in A&E with my beautiful daughter...(sadly with a broken arm) she is ok now, plenty of pampering coming her way!!!

Interesting how the simplest of happening...can become interesing through the camera..........I was refilling my soya sauce bottle...and split some on my counter....left the neatest design..actually like a footprint.....anyways....have to play with it with the camera.......and turned into something interesting in colour....all due to the angle and light .

Buscamos vastos paisajes, imagenes impactanten al espectador, pero...a veces lo más simple está a nuestro alrededor creando armonia con la simplicidad de su belleza.
We look for vast landscapes, images that impress the viewer, but ... sometimes the simplest is around us creating harmony with the simplicity of its beauty.
So here's a secret about me.... I do not like to wrap presents but I do like to cover them in ribbons and bows. How weird is that?
There are times we struggle to achieve the simplest tasks. At other things we dance through our day effortlessly and our arts occur as naturally as blinking an eye. Which means all we have to do is just relax and find This Flow and let it move us.

I'm always unhappy about seeing forest pictures with a road/lane. It is in my opinion one of the most boring and simplest way to "capture" nature's beauty. Get the hell off the man-made tracks and into nature! ( - As far as nature is the right word for European working forests.. - )
This upload is more like an experiment. "Boring" forest road pictures get much attention, which is (at my point of view) hard to understand.
Why do viewers seem to like extremly unnatural nature photography? What happened to the viewing habits on nature? And is it possible that this photograph gets more likes on my social media accounts than more natural ones?
Well, I guess only a few viewers will read this text and I am also not sure whether to take consequences of that experiment or not.
I have to much freetime, I think.
Spotted this duck gliding through the still waters of Cleveland Metroparks. I loved how the reeds framed the scene and how the ripples carried soft reflections across the surface. Sometimes the simplest moments in nature remind us of calm and balance.
With all the technologies, techniques, equipment and experience a photographer gains over time, it's easy to forget that the simplest shoots are often times the best.
For this shot, I used a bare alien bee AB800 light and mounted a diffuser in front of it. The nice thing about using a stand-alone diffuser instead of a softbox is that you can control how soft the light is by changing the distance between the model, the diffuser and the light source.
The background, a seemingly plush wall, is actually a sofa cushion turned on its side, sitting on the kitchen counter.
For the sake of the young children on the set, the smoke was added in post.
