The beauty of the world lies not only in these grandiose places that amaze us all.
The most beautiful and touching manifestations are often revealed to us in these simple unpretentious natural harmonies, which are often found in places without a name, away from the busiest roads.
And it is there, far from the crowds and the incessant noise of the world, that we can hear and feel, in its simplest expression, the music of our origins.

Observing our World and the beauty that lies within is something that we photographers do often. Things or objects that we see readily we can easily take for granted. Until we train ourselves to appreciate and enjoy the simplest of things we encounter, then we’re apt to overlook and consequently miss out on one real joys of life. Being aware and grateful for even the smallest of our visual treasures gives us an appreciation for, and broadens our desire to seek out and savor more of “Nature’s Miracles.” These colorful miracles are virtually everywhere throughout our day even when we’re not getting around now and we once were. Watching a great sky play with a setting sun, , continually changing and presenting opportunities. There is a challenge , even though it's a very enjoyable one, this is the simplest of reflections, but sometimes simple is fine. The sadness comes because you know it won't last, but it's so exhilarating. Exhilarating Sadness is by The Saw Doctors, who we were lucky enough to see live last year, they were great fun.

There is still much to do to ourselves off this label. Basically today, finding drugs in Perugia is one of the simplest things in the world. Because the dealers turn unpunished and are easily identified by anyone, so that the question arises that the ordinary person is "if everyone knows who they are because the police do not intervene?"

Oh, that child has skills. We were on a road trip. A three hour one. Every animal we passed was on her sisters side of the truck. Therefore, life, in her opinion, was completely unfair. So as we drove she whined and complained about the inequity of the animal viewing. This went on for hours. I’m not even sure I could keep up with that pace of grumbling and she got those skills from me. (Sorry mom...really am!)
So when we had the chance and found a friendly horse we turned the truck around. This was it. It was her moment. As that horse strolled closer she got more nervous. I rolled down the window. (Yeah...I know...I'm old and we don’t roll a window down anymore but in my head we still do.) She grabbed her camera and went for it. I grabbed mine.
All the complaining was worth it for this image. I love seeing her do her thing. The remainder of the drive went better. No grumbles. We instead got the excitement of looking at her pictures. Detour...worth it. And sometimes the simplest of things are the highlights of a vacation.
Summer air so humid at times can keep us from enjoying the simplest of pleasures. Air becomes lighter and our mood can shift to where “When The Rains Stopped” life takes us to a kinder place where we find everything is lighter and pleasant again. Let Gratitude and Kindness be you torch in the darkest of times.
The first signs of Spring over here at last, with some dandelions making an appearance. Thought I'd do some googling and, as always, nature amazes me. Did you know every part of a dandelion is edible? The flowers, leaves, roots have all been used in salads, teas & wines. Dandelion greens are packed with vitamins A, C, K, calcium, iron & potassium. Who knew! Well, apparently lots of people, they've been used for centuries in Chinese, Middle eastern & European herbal medicine.
They are great little travellers too - their seeds have tiny parachutes that lets them float for up to 8 kilometres.
I saw a couple of sayings - "Little suns by day, little moons by night" and "Sometimes the simplest things carry the most magic". Both seem so true!

I liked the differences in shapes, textures and contrasts. I have a ton of images and I'm trying really hard to pull them out slowly. Maybe I shouldn't share them all but I only do if I really like them. I guess they can keep me busy for when the weather gets ugly. Which here in Colorado that can happen at anytime! Thanks G.B.Y.

A few years ago, German politicians decided to privatize the railway and appointed a ... business consultant to the top of the railway. We all know that a eunuch knows how to do it, but ... OK, the rail company saved everywhere, but at the same time also employed a lot of managers with fantastic titles and salaries. Today, the trains are absolutely unpunctual and the simplest things do not work, such as incoming trains in the displayed row of cars, or functioning air conditioning and heating systems. Not even clean platforms without tufts of grass on the edge ... It is a tragedy worldwide with the total nonsense of privatizing basic services of the state.

The black skimmer doesn’t fish the way other birds do. He flies low, wings stretched like he’s balancing on the edge of a dream, and drags his long lower beak through the water like it’s the simplest idea in the world. He doesn’t look down. He doesn’t dive. He just skims — and when a fish touches that blade of a beak, it snaps shut in an instant. No hesitation. It’s not flashy, but it’s brilliant in the way quiet things can be. Caban coch dam 'topping' at the Elan valley, Powys, Wales, UK
The lowest of the dams in the sequence of four built in the valley of the Elan River is Caban Coch Dam. It is the simplest and most functional in appearance of all the dams, resembling a natural waterfall when the reservoir is full and the dam is in full spate with water pouring over the dam wall.
Caban Coch is the first of the four dams to be built, with work starting in 1894.

This was a complete experiment in LE. A simple street lamp flared and focus centred into the lens, to be honest I'm not sure about it, let me know what you think.
Personally I think I need to play around and do this again a few times, to see what comes out. Colours here were moderately enhanced for greater effect but I think sometimes the simplest things, in this case a humble street lamp, can sometimes create magic.

For this task it was really hard to choose from all my hobbies. You could almost call me a hobby-collector. This right here is an image taken from my latest hobby that I have been learning from by doing; paper-crafting. I love fixing my own birthday-cards, scrapbooking, decorating boxes by mixing media with tags, tapes, stencils, cut-boards you name it.
I dare anyone to try it out. Its very relaxing to see your creations with the simplest ads of colors and dies.
