I have been enjoying playing with supplies recently and exploring a little mixed media. I still tend to keep to a clean style; I've not ventured into full-on art journaling! However, I am having so much fun! A little while ago, I had a very messy play with some Distress Oxide sprays and made a few backgrounds that I tucked away for future use. Today was the day to pull out one of those backgrounds and make it into a card.

I have a video today - watercolouring has turned into a long term passion, and over time I have honed in on products that I love. However, I don't want to get stuck in a rut. So for this video, I'm taking a look at the Karin Brushmarker Pro set and pairing these watercolour pens with a cute stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

I used the Geotag die from SSS as a balloon and I made it in a shaker card! The background is made using the banner stamp from "Happy and Smile" SSS stamp set and the dots from Lwn Fawn "Deck the Halls" stamp set.

For this card I used the August Kit of the Month from SimonSaysStamp. Love the stencil I sponged colored with distress inks. The white is Distress crackle paint "picket fence".

How do you like to plan out your week? Do you use digital or paper planning? Combination of both? I combine my digital planning with writing things down in a planner. I find that by doing this it helps me to remember and solidify what needs doing and keeps me on track. I've a video today looking at how I planned out my week in a Kaisercraft small grey stitched planner ✏️ 📖 😀

Creating a simple autumn scene is so easy with the right stamp set. Create a colourful background with your favourite medium from ink blending, ink smooshing, spritzing with sprays or, in my case, a little watercolour and then stamp over the top! Enjoying to Watercolor this beautiful stamp of layered tulips with the inspired sentiment from Simonsaysstamp ( sss202121 and sss202083)

I also used the Look for the Rainbow stamp set from @simonsaysstamp on this card 😊 Colored with Copics.

Glitter and shimmer made with Spectrum Noir glitter marker.

Cut out the flower arrangement and added it on a background made from navy cardstock with the Sunburst stencil from @altenewllc and speckled egg Distress Oxide.

Sentiment from @tayloredexpressions.

For this card, I quilled one snowflake in grey and embossed the rest in silver. The front panel was die-cut using the stitched rectangles die from SSS. I love the neat finish this die gives to the panel.

I distressed the front panel using some cracked pistachio and peacock feathers distress inks. The snowflakes are from the 'Circle Holiday Sayings' stamp set, and the sentiment is from the 'Holiday Hellos' stamp set, both from Simon Says Stamp.

The silver/grey layer at the back is from DCWV cardstock stack.

I also added some grey and teal sequins to go with the whole card.

made this for the current SSS flickr challenge to use embossing. I used my favorite embossing technique of partial embossing. Took forever to get a decent photo of my card that actually showed the partial embossing... sigh! anyway I used the SSS stamp set Lovely Spring and the company dies Lovely Day. The layout is based on the current Sweet Sunday Sketch so I will be posting this there, as well.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched banner dies to create the main panel of the card and also to cut the vellum strip (I turned the die around and cut the strip twice to remove the fishtail bit). The background was created using a stencil from Tim Holtz and the word die is by My Favourite Things!
