Thank you!
Mixed-media - the term seemed quite frightening to me and brought to mind complex art journalling, and yet when I thought about it, I've been using a type of mixed-media for years. After all, the definition is "more than one medium used in creation". This card, uses ink blending, heat embossing, stencilling, and die-cutting and so does fit the definition!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Cupids Heart Border to create this inlaid die-cut card. I'm entering this into the current SSS Flickr challenge - love/hearts.
Recently got the SSS Sketch Tulip Bouquet stamp and die set as well as some Nuvo Aqua Flow watercolor pens. I used two of the pens to color the tulips. I also got some of the Picket Fence life changing brushes. Don't know if they have changed my life, but they sure do blend distress oxide inks beautifully! Adding this to the current SSS flickr challenge, as well as the SSS Wednesday challenge. The sentiments are from the SSS Mom Flowers stamp set.

I am entering this card in the SSS Flickr Challenge.
This is actually the first panel I made with the SSS "Poinsettia BG" stamp and the Altenew Metallic Watercolors (see previous post for the second panel). I couldn’t decide which colors to use, so I decided to use most of them! The panel turned out way too busy and was a shimmery mess. I had toyed with the idea of tossing it, but decided to see if it grew on me overnight. Then, and please don’t think I’m a stalker (well, I am, but in a non-scary way), but I saw Carissa Wiley's IG story yesterday that included a shot of her at home. Behind her was a multi-hued painting in a gold frame. I thought the colors were not dissimilar to the panel that was sitting on my desk. That’s when I decided I’d snip the panel down and make it look like a painting on a museum wall. I couldn’t capture the dimension very well in these pictures, but the painted pieces are recessed under acetate, and the frame is raised up by 2 layers of foam in one and 3 layers in the other. I should have remembered – if it’s too busy, snip it! I got 2 cards out of the panel and can probably get one more, but I’m tired and need a cookie. 😉
Ink blended background using Taylored Expressions Deckle Rectangle mask and Simon Says Stamp Friendship Leafy Cluster stamp set.
I just recently heard about the Elegant Writer calligraphy pens being water reactive and it's something new I wanted to try forSimon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge: Take a Leap into the Unknown.
Also created for the Hero Arts Fabulous Flowers challenge.
Created this Artist Trading Card (ATC) by inking Hero Arts H5484 Jewel Daisy with a black Elegant Writer calligraphy pen. Then I stamped it onto 90# cold pressed watercolor paper.
The Elegant Writer pen is water-reactive, so I painted with water around the edges of the daisy to create a shadow. Added yellow watercolor to the center. All of the other colors are a result of the reactive Elegant Writer ink.
I love the soft, delicate, artistic quality of the resulting flower!

Using the new words die ( sssd112418 )with the beautiful large stitched maple ( S686 ) from #simonsaysstamp to complete this handmade greeting card.
I must admit, I can be a bit of a watercolour snob! When trying new supplies, I am always a little sceptical that they will meet up to the standards of my current favourites. However, I greatly respect Tim Holtz and the products he puts his name on. The Distress line is key in my creative process, so I was intrigued and optimistic about the new Distress Watercolour Pencils. I thoroughly enjoyed swatching them and then testing them in real life on this deeply embossed snowflake card :D

A card using the Christmas Cheer stamp set from Simon Says Stamps last years December card kit. Did some ink blending with Distress Oxides for the background, heat embossing for the snowflakes and Copic colouring for Santa and the pole.
This card is for the SSSFlickrchallenge#139, Anything Goes.
I have not played along with a SSS flickr challenge in ages. Since I used the SSS Ornate Ornaments stamp and die set from last year, as well as a sentiment from a now retired SSS set to create this Christmas card I would enter this in the current challenge. I did simple watercoloring with my ZIGs for this one.
I created this card using Penny Black's Hooray Die and Simon Says Stamp Farm Birthday stamp set and die.

I got asked to do a 65th birthday card for the Mother of one of my workmates. I went with a monochromatic look in blue with a touch of gold with the numbers. I used some PP I got the other day ~ a 12x12 sheet that I cut into 4 6x6 sheets. I added some blue scalloped card. I used the same blue as the base to make the Floral Oval. Some Hero Arts stamps and die and some blue gems.

Made this card for my brother and sister in law to thank them for their understanding and support. My brother has his own "winery". So, they will like my card I think.
The stampset I used is SSS101633: "Time for wine".
The design is by Kathy Racoosin. Her card I used as guide line was for day one of her 30 days of coloring challenge. I am going to enter this card in her challenge.
