I created this card using the Brilliant Presents die from Simon Says Stamp. I'm entering this into the current SSS Flickr challenge - anything goes.

I think this Pretty Peonies Background stamp is my favourite from the recent Simon Says Stamp release. I used it before for a bright, loose watercoloured background with white heat embossing, but for today I wanted to use my favourite muted colour palette and some no-line watercolouring. I hope you'll call by and take a closer look over at my blog 😃

For simon says stamp flick challenge. all about die cutting.

I used a simon exclusive stencil with some texture paste to add some detail to my distress ink background I stamped the sentiment from furry Christmas and the die cuts are the circle loops dies that i turned into baubles.

Oh, I am in the mood for the soft pastels currently. It is that tempting hint at spring, I think. The birds seem to know that the days are getting longer and are chattering away more, beginning the pairing up process for the breeding season ahead. I had such fun with this card creating lots of subtle details from the mandala in the background with a bit of crackle and the layered Valentine's sentiments enforced by the symbolism of the die-cut heart :D

Made this with the new Snowflake Frame from the Simon Says Stamp DIEcember release. The little snowman and sentiment are from a SSS stamp set that is no longer available. Colored the little guy with Copics. Adding this to the SSS flickr challenge of anything goes.

I love Stacy Hutchinson and her card using Tim Holtz’s new Speckled Egg blew me away. Stacy has a great step-by-step photo tutorial and I followed many of the steps but just using my own supplies.

STAMPtember it may be, but it's not only about the stamps! There are a lot of new and exciting products under the Simon Says Stamp umbrella which aren't stamps, from inks, to blending brushes, to staples such as adhesives and then innovative products like the PET tool! 😃

There is a wide range of different techniques for watercolouring flowers from the very loosest of simple brush marks to ultra-detailed, realistic paintings. My preference is somewhere in between, but more towards the loose side; it's a play between faded hints at what is there and yet other areas where you can still define flowers and leaves and they do have some detail to them. In today's video, I have hints and tips as to how I like to add the loose look to watercoloured flowers from stamped images 😃

Join me for a blog hop today celebrating the new @simonsaysstamp release! Although I'm enjoying getting back to my love of florals, I'm still finding the winter is inspiring moody colour schemes! This card was inspired by a blouse I have with khaki background and white daisies with blue centres and black leaves. I'm always looking at how I can use my supplies with paints and the beautiful new Peony stencil had me reaching for my white gouache. it is rather gray and dreary here in the pacific northwest so I thought I would make a bright and cheerful card using the SSS spring blooms stamps and dies. the sentiment is from the SSS friendship blooms set. love the newly released spring flowers 2 so hopefully one day I will be able to add that to my collection! I colored everything with my ZIG markers. finished the card with a few yellow sequins.

Today I want to share with you a watercolour top tip. I know watercolour can feel intimidating to some people, but the method I want to talk about today makes watercolouring more approachable. I love the look of loose watercolouring, but there is a lot of skill in letting go and painting in a loose style. However, a more achievable approach is to tackle the painting in layers. I do love keeping things simple, two kitties stamped together and then watercoloured. A little colour around them to set the scene and done. I also love this sentiment which I cut apart from a longer version on the stamp set. I think we all need time to pause/paws at the moment.

Finally made something with the June SSS card kit. I always seem to be a "day late and a dollar short" when it comes to using my kits, lol! I used my ZIGs to color the image after stamping it in VersaFine CLAIR Nocturne on smooth Bristol. Added some sequins for sparkle.

All the hearts today for the first card kit of 2018 from Simon Says Stamp ❤️ 😃 Sorry for the poor photos today. I got the kit yesterday and made this card but ran out of light and then we had my daughter's guinea pig at the emergency vet last night and will be back at the hospital with her again today so I had to resort to my video lights.
