Pre Worboys road signs at Bridgnorth, 01.01.09- I gather the stripes along the top of each sign signified a main road...
An old UK 'finger post' roadsign from the old Lindsey County Council. This area once covered the northern area of what was Lincolnshire - Lindsey was one of the 'parts' of Lincolnshire pre 1974. This road marker survived the Humberside County Council era of 1974-1996 and is still pointing drivers to places in the current North Lincolnshire era, 1996-?
This signpost is in someone's back garden and you can see the top of their garden shed. Not sure if it's always been in that position or if it was 'smuggled' there over the wall to save it from being replaced. There is only one other sign like this in the area that I know of but plenty more in adjoining counties.

Back in the day, before opening the restaurant, we were drawn to this space by this amazing green sign. The sign was our inspiration for our name, it became our beacon.
This sign fell off yesterday due to its old age. We were extremely scared because we thought it might fall on top of someone on the street, our staff, or our entrance. It didn't, fire fighters had to come in and let the swinging sign down easy.
We are immensely sad and know this is a landmark piece of your and out neighborhood.
Just know we are trying to figure out if there is any way possible to hang it back up.

This was a sign I owned for a while. I ended up selling it because it was simply too large. It was 12 feet tall. If I''d have put it all the way to the ceiling in my garage, it would have only been 4' from the floor. I felt that was too low and would end up getting damaged. It sure was a beautiful sign and in excellent condition (just needed a few pieces of neon tubing fixed at the bottom).
The English translation of this is "Cars parked at owners risk"

i found an app that was able to translate this sign. turns out it's a radiohead song used as a hidden message from the fine folks at BART.

We went walking around Lake Harriet today. I spent 3 hours there. We stopped to read the sign and instantly the waterfowl came.
Spotted in Bishops Castle, Shropshire; wonder how many of this type of old sign still exist on today's roads.....?
i know im not the only one who thinks the new flickr layout is complete trash. Dr. Purp Thumb started the petition below: petitions.moveon.org/sign/change-flickr-back?source=s.fwd... Sing it, it only takes a few minutes and theres a chance the old layout will return.
This is the very old style City of San Diego street sign. Not very many of these left. These are Downtown at Pacific Highway and A Street (obviously!).
Just hanging out with the boys on a sunny morning...
Too bad about the unfortunate sign placement, and it's too big to clone out effectively.
