I festeggiamenti nascono in onore di Nostra Signora del Suffragio, Patrona e Protettrice di Recco. La festa è organizzata dai 7 Quartieri di Recco, Bastia, Collodari, Liceto, Ponte, San Martino, Spiaggia e Verzemma che si sfidano in una due giorni di spettacoli pirotecnici di altissimo livello.

Feast of the Madonna del Suffragio
The celebrations are born in honor of Our Lady of Suffrage, Patron and Protector of Recco. The party is organized by the 7 districts of Recco, Bastia, Collodari, Liceto, Ponte, San Martino, Spiaggia and Verzemma who compete in two days of top-level fireworks shows.

The sanctuary of Our Lady of Gonare, sits on top of the mountain of Gonare; 1,083 meters high, in the territory of Orani (Sardinia). It was initially built around the twelfth century and later expanded in 1608.

C'è una signora che è sicura che sia oro tutto quel che luccica

Gentilmente, con un sorriso, mi aveva chiesto se volevo andare nell'unica striscia d'ombra. Mi avrebbe fatto spazio mentre aspettavamo il trenino.
La giornata era davvero torrida.
Dall'accento ( e da come parlava al bambino) ho capito che probabilmente era Ucraina

La chiesa di Matteo e la statua di Santo Stefano.
Comunemente chiamata con il nome di Mattia Corvino, il vero nome della chiesa è Nostra Signora Assunta della Collina del Castello ed è dedicata alla Madonna.
Fu costruita tra il 1255 e il 1269 per la volontà del re Béla IV d'Ungheria. Nel 1541 venne trasformata in una moschea dai turchi, per poi passare ai gesuiti.
Nel 1873 e il 1896 fu oggetto di restauri da parte dell'architetto Frigyes Schulek che la ricostruì parzialmente in stile neogotico.

Commonly called by the name of Mattia Corvino, the real name of the church is Our Lady of the Assumption of the Castle Hill and is dedicated to the Madonna.
It was built between 1255 and 1269 by the will of King Béla IV of Hungary. In 1541 it was transformed into a mosque by the Turks, then passed to the Jesuits.
In 1873 and 1896 it was the subject of restoration by the architect Frigyes Schulek who partially rebuilt it in the neo-Gothic style.

Das Original von Michelangelos berühmter Marmorskulptur des David steht in der Florentiner Galleria dell’Accademia. Doch ich vermute, dass diese Marmor-Kopie des David auf der Piazza della Signora vor dem Palazzo Vecchio von viel mehr Menschen bewundert wird als das Original. Der Löwe gegenüber ist an ihm hingegen nicht interessiert. Er scheint satt zu sein und nur zum Ball spielen aufgelegt.
The Original of Michelangelo's famous marble sculpture of David stands at the Florentine Galleria dell'Academia. But I assume that this marble copy of David at the Piazza della Signora in front of the Palazzo Vecchio is admired by much more people than the Original. The lion at the opposite isn't interested on him. He seems to be replete and wants only to play with the ball.

L'Albert Bridge è un ponte stradale sul fiume Tamigi che collega Chelsea a Battersea e fu completato nel 1873. In origine era un ponte a pedaggio, ma perché commercialmente senza successo, sei anni dopo la sua apertura fu dichiarato pubblico. I caselli sono rimasti sul posto e sono gli unici esempi ancora esistenti in città. Soprannominato "La signora tremolante" a causa della sua tendenza a vibrare quando un gran numero di persone vi camminavano, il ponte ha ancora cartelli al suo ingresso che chiedono alle truppe di rompere passo mentre attraversano il ponte. Nel 1992, è stato dipinto con colori insoliti al fine di renderlo più visibilile, ed evitare di essere danneggiato dalle imbarcazioni. Di notte è illuminato da 4.000 lampadine, che lo rendono uno dei monumenti più suggestivi della West London. Il suo attuale aspetto caratteristico e suggestivo ha portato al suo uso come ambientazione per numerosi film ambientati nella zona di Chelsea come Sliding Doors.
The Albert Bridge is a road bridge over the River Thames connecting Chelsea to Battersea and it was completed in 1873. Originally it was a toll bridge but because commercially unsuccessful, six years after its opening it was taken into public ownership. The tollbooths remained in place and are the only surviving examples in London. Nicknamed "The Trembling Lady" because of its tendency to vibrate when large numbers of people walked over it, the bridge has signs at its entrances that warned troops to break step whilst crossing the bridge. In 1992, the Albert Bridge was rewired and painted in an unusual colour scheme designed to make it more conspicuous in poor visibility, and avoid being damaged by ships. At night it is illuminated by 4,000 bulbs, making it one of West London's most striking landmarks. Its distinctive and striking current appearance has led to its use as a backdrop for numerous films set in the Chelsea area like Sliding Doors.
