Historical reenactment in Almendralejo's town (Badajoz). Once a year the city recreates the Spanish romantic period to commemorate two of the most famous Spanish writers were born there: Jose de Espronceda (1808 - 1842) and Carolina Coronado (1820 - 1911).
La Chiesa di Nostra Signora di Digione , considerato un capolavoro di architettura gotica del XIII ° secolo , si trova nel cuore dei 97 ettari dell'area protetta di Digione , sottoscritto dal4 luglio 2015un patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO . The Church of Our Lady of Dijon , considered a masterpiece of 13th-century Gothic architecture, is located in the heart of the 97 hectares of the protected area of Dijon , a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 4 July 2015. It stands on Place Notre-Dame , near the Palace of the Dukes and States of Burgundy and opposite Rue Musette. The present building is estimated to have been constructed between about 1220 and 1250. This church houses the statue of Our Lady of Good Hope, formerly called the Black Madonna . It is also decorated with two symbols of the city of Dijon: the Jacquemart and the owl. The church was classified as a historical monument by the 1840 list . The Chapel of the Assumption, the sacristy and the gallery that connects them to the church have been listed as historical monuments since 5 July 2002.
We spent three weeks in Sardinia in August 2018 as a family vacation, with not as much time as would have been needed to really explore this wonderful island from a photographic viewpoint.
Thus, after I retired a few months thereafter, I decided to go back on my own for another couple of weeks, and settled for end of March 2019. I rented a house on the western coast of the island, with people who also owned an apartment near the eastern coast, and were willing to include use of it in the rental. That gave me bases on both sides of the island, which was ideal, as the road situation on the mountainous, eastern side of Sardinia is quite bad, and it takes ages to go to one place to another.
As usual, I will caption in bold type below these introductory paragraphs whenever needed.
This is the church of Nostra Signora di Talia, in the town of Olmedo. We have more written documentation for this one than for most others, and we know it was built between 1100 and 1125, most likely by master masons from Tuscany and Lombardy, judging by the architectural style and decoration.
It is a lovely old little Romanesque church built with red sandstone on a basilica-type plan with three naves, to accommodate an already sizeable congregation.

Nostra Signora, located just outside the village of Tergu is one of the few remaining structures of a former monastery. The monastery is gone - and now this is the parish church of Tergu.
The construction of Nostra Signora is attributed to Marianus I, who was the "Giudice" (judge/king) of Torres from 1065 to 1082. Workers from Pisa and the Lombardy built it. The church was consecrated in 1117 and in 1122 it dependent on the famous abbey of Montecassino, founded by Saint Benedict.
The façade´s upper part crumbled down during the centuries, so in the 12 century this church was even more impressing.

Barack Obama Plaza (stazione di servizio a Moneygall), è un'area all'uscita 23 della M7 , alla periferia del villaggio di Moneygall , al confine tra le contee di Tipperary e Offaly in Irlanda .
La plaza è stata aperta nel giugno 2014 e prende il nome dal presidente americano Barack Obama , il cui terzo bisnonno viveva nelle vicinanze.
Secondo quanto riferito, l'antenato Falmouth Kearney, emigrò negli Stati Uniti nel 1850.
Oltre alle forniture di carburante, include una varietà di punti vendita come Supermac , Papa John's Pizza , Mac's Place, Bewleys coffee e un negozio Spar .
Il Barack Obama Plaza comprende anche un centro visitatori che fornisce informazioni sui legami familiari del presidente Obama a Moneygall, dove viveva il suo trisavolo.
La stazione di servizio costò 7 milioni di euro per la costruzione, e fu inaugurata nel 2014.
Nel 2017 la stazione fu nominata per essere stata ribattezzata "Trump Plaza", come scherzo del pesce di aprile .

Beautiful Nelly Corradi (1914–1968) was an Italian opera singer and actress. She made her film debut in Max Ophüls’s La signora di tutti (1934) and had her biggest successes after the war with opera films like Lucia di Lammermoor (1946).
Nelly or Nelli Corradi was born in Parma, Italy, in 1914. She studied to become a lyrical soprano at the Conservatory of Parma. After graduating, she started to perform in operas. In 1934 famous director Max Ophüls spotted her for the cinema and she made her film debut with the supporting part of Anna, the younger sister of Gabriella (Isa Miranda), in his La signora di tutti/Everybody's Woman (Max Ophüls, 1934). It is the only film Max Ophüls made in Italy. The film was a success and Isa Miranda became a star. Soon followed also leading parts for Corradi in such films as the drama Luci sommerse/Dimmed Lights (Adelqui Migliar, 1934) with Fosco Giacchetti, and in particular Le scarpe al sole (1935) by Marco Elter, with whom Corradi would do several films and whom she married too. Le scarpe al sole, about a woman whose husband is at war during the First World War, was Elter's film debut and got many awards. With Elter, Corradi also appeared in e.g. Il torrente/The creek (Marco Elter, 1938) with Camillo Pilotto, and his Shakespeare adaptation Dente per dente/Measure for Measure (1943). Corradi also acted in films by other directors such as Gianni Franciolini (Fari nella nebbia, 1942), mostly in supporting parts. Parallel, Corradi performed as an opera singer and toured Italy and Europe as a singer. Elter died at age 55 in 1945 while sojourning in Switzerland.
After the war, Nelly Corradi remained active on stage, sometimes in operettas too. She is probably best known for her post-war starring parts in opera films like Lucia di Lammermoor (Piero Ballerini, 1946). Fisher L Forrest at IMDb: “This is a very cinematic rendition of the Donizetti favorite featuring beautiful people, beautifully photographed, in beautiful settings. One may cavil that the atmosphere seems more Italian than Scottish, despite a few jaunty feathers in a bonnet or two and Normanno sporting a kilt and tartan plaid. But, what the heck! It is after all an Italian opera. Nelly Corradi is likely the most beautiful Lucia one is likely ever to see on screen or stage. Moreover, she is a consummate actress.” The success of the film soon lead to other opera films like L'elisir d'amore/Elixir of Love (Mario Costa, 1947), Il barbiere di Siviglia/Barber of Seville (Mario Costa, 1947) with Tito Schipa, La signora dalle camelie/The Lost One (Carmine Gallone, 1947) and La forza del destino/The Force of Destiny (Carmine Gallone, 1950). She portrayed Margherita in La leggenda di Faust/Faust (Carmine Gallone, 1950) and played an opera singer in Puccini (Carmine Gallone, 1953), featuring Gabriele Ferzetti. Her final film was Gli orizzonti del sole/ The horizons of the sun (Giovanni Paolucci, 1955). Just like her husband, Nelly Corradi died early, at age 53, in 1968 in Rome, Italy.

La Real Cappella della Soledad che fu costruita alla fine del 1500 dentro la Chiesa di San Demetrio della SS Trinità, ampliata nel '600 e rifinita con marmi mischi nel 1700, appartiene al clero Spagnolo.
I bombardamenti della II guerra mondiale distrussero completamente la Chiesa di San Demetrio ma la Cappella pur seriamente danneggiata restò miracolosamente in piedi.
Nel 1957 fu restaurata a spese del Regno di Spagna e riaperta al culto.
Vi si accede da un elegante cancello in ferro, che una volta la separava dalla Chiesa.
L'interno, completamente rivestito di marmi mischi,è ricchissimo di dipinti,busti con iscrizioni e pitture;all'altare l'immagine della Madonna della Soledad portata in città da un gruppo di spagnoli.
Intorno al 1600 la Congregazione di Nostra Signora della Soledad, il Venerdì Santo, organizzò la processione nota in città come:”Scinnuta r’Addulurata”(la discesa della Vergine Santissima Addolorata), che consisteva nel portare in forma solenne il simulacro della Vergine Addolorata ricoperto da un bellissimo manto in velluto nero,quello attuale è dono della regina Margherita di Savoia, dalla sua nicchia fino all’altare maggiore della Cappella. From a series of Firenze, San Gimignano and Certaldo Italian vacation shots. Certaldo is a very beautiful old hill-town in Tuscany that Cignale and cristianella kindly took us to. This shot was taken in the lower (new) town. The hill on the right leads you up to the ancient hill-town. I was glad to see that the lady of mature years didn't attempt to cycle up the right fork, because that climb might have tested a Giro di Italia pro cyclist? My thanks to Antonio Castaldini for his very funny 'gallina vecchia fa buono brodo' (old chicken makes good soup)! LOL!
