Le lac d'Aubert est un lac des Pyrénées françaises de 45 hectares situé à une altitude de 2 148 mètres.
Ce lac est situé dans la réserve naturelle du Néouvielle (massif du Néouvielle), aux portes du parc national des Pyrénées, en contrebas et à l'ouest du lac d'Aumar dont il n'est séparé que par une bande de terre d'environ 200 mètres de large. Il s'étale sur 45 hectares à une altitude de 2 148 mètres. Son barrage surplombe les Laquettes.
Dans sa quasi-totalité, le lac est sur une enclave de la commune de Vielle-Aure, dans le département des Hautes-Pyrénées, en région Occitanie2. Cependant, deux petites parties, au nord-ouest comme au sud sont rattachées à une autre enclave, dépendante de la commune de Saint-Lary-Soulan.
La ville la plus proche est Saint-Lary-Soulan.
La route menant aux lacs (Orédon, Aubert, Aumar et Cap-de-Long) est réglementée : généralement fermée en hiver, la fermeture est signalée par des panneaux, au carrefour de Fabian ; la circulation automobile montante, sur la dernière partie de la route, après le lac d'Orédon, interdite de 9 à 18 h, est réservée aux véhicules de service et au bus-navette.

143 168-3 zieht ihre S9 nach Eilenburg in den Bahnhof Kämmereiforst. Dieser mitten im Wald gelegene Bahnhof versprüht noch pure DDR Atmosphäre, Legendär der DR Aschenbecher am Bahnsteig und der Geruch in der kleinen Wartehalle. Um es mit meinem Kollegen Mariusz Dolinski zu sagen "Guck dich Dat an hier! Wahnsinn! Der Aschenbecher! Ich geh gleich Feste!"
143 168-3 bring's her S9 train into the Station of Kämmereiforst, this litte station is in the middle of the forest, the next real town is more than i kilometer away. Not much has changed there since the end of the GDR, even the waitinghall smells still like a long forgotten dream of Oil and Steam.

Le site paysager du Trixhe Nollet,
Hayen et le site de Trixhe Nollet a un passé méconnu, à savoir son passé industriel. L’exploitation du minerai de fer est signalée dès 1639 dans les annales des comtes d’Esneux et fut pendant deux siècles un des pourvoyeurs des maîtres de forges liégeois.
Le minerai était acheminé par chars depuis le Trixhe Nollet à travers bois par le trou du Renard et puis la vallée seche du Rothy jusqu’au Laveu de Méry et l’Ourthe. La navigation sur l’Ourthe a fortement évolué durant la période d’activité des minières (mise en service du canal Liège-Comblain).
Vers 1774, Dom Nicolas Spirlet, abbé prieur de l’abbaye des bénédictins de Saint-Hubert et Maître des forges au fourneau Saint-Michel coulait les canons pour les américains pour leur guerre de l’indépendance. Dans la fabrication, il ne se contentait pas des riches minerai de la région de Saint-Hubert, mais il y mélangeait ceux de chez nous.
Hayen and the Trixhe Nollet site have a little-known past, namely its industrial past. The exploitation of iron ore is noted as early as 1639 in the annals of the Counts of Esneux and was for two centuries one of the purveyors of the Liège ironmasters.
The ore was transported by tanks from the Trixhe Nollet through the woods through the Renard hole and then the dry valley of Rothy to Laveu de Méry and the Ourthe. Navigation on the Ourthe has changed considerably during the period of mining activity (commissioning of the Liège-Comblain canal).
Around 1774, Dom Nicolas Spirlet, abbot prior of the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Hubert and master of the forges at the Saint-Michel furnace, sank the cannons for the Americans for their war of independence. In manufacturing, he was not satisfied with the rich minerals of the Saint-Hubert region, but he mixed those from our region.
De ZLSM is voor ons een beetje ver aanrijden, dus gaan we vooral tijdens evenementen richting het zuiden. Gelukkig werden in 2025 weer de Stoomtreindagen gehouden, waar we op zaterdag heen zijn gegaan. In actie kwamen de ZLSM 57 'Bonne', 1040, het railbus stammetje getrokken door de 'Spaniol' en reed de net opgeleverde 52 532 heen en weer op Simpelveld. Deze dag kwamen de VSM 23 071 en 23 076 met de 'VSM Jubileum express' ook langs, die natuurlijk ook vastgelegd werden. Na een wat bewolkte ochtend klaarde het later op en scheen de zon lekker. Een geslaagde dag weg.
The ZLSM is a bit of a drive for us, so we mainly head south during events. Fortunately, the Steam Train Days were held again in 2025, which we attended on Saturday. In action were the ZLSM 57 'Bonne', 1040, the railbus set pulled by the 'Spaniol', and the newly completed 52 532 ran back and forth at Simpelveld. On this day, the VSM 23 071 and 23 076 with the 'VSM Jubilee Express' also passed by, which were naturally captured on camera as well. After a somewhat cloudy morning, it cleared up later and the sun shone brightly. A successful day out.
Die ZLSM ist für uns etwas abgelegen, daher fahren wir bei Veranstaltungen meist in den Süden. Glücklicherweise fanden die Dampfloktage 2025 wieder statt, die wir am Samstag besuchten. Im Einsatz waren die ZLSM 57 'Bonne', die 1040, der von der 'Spaniol' gezogene Schienenbus und die neu fertiggestellte 52 532, die in Simpelveld pendelte. An diesem Tag fuhren auch die VSM 23 071 und 23 076 mit dem 'VSM Jubileums Express' vorbei, die wir natürlich ebenfalls fotografierten. Nach einem etwas bewölkten Morgen klarte es später auf und die Sonne schien hell. Ein gelungener Ausflug.

EZK Eilenburg - Laußig (DB Cargo) bei der Einfahrt in den Bahnhof Laußig. Der sieht zwar auf den ersten Blick intakt aus, aber die Signale sind nicht mehr in Betrieb, es findet hier Zugleitbetrieb statt. Die "Übergabe" bedient das örtliche Schwellenwerk und sehr selten noch einen weiteren Kunden in Laußig. Dieser Zug ist der einzige regelmäßige Zug auf der alten Strecke Eilenburg - Pretzsch - Pratau, der über Sprotta hinaus fährt. Nördlich von Bad Düben ist die weitere Strecke nach Pratau schon jahrelang gesperrt.
EZK Eilenburg–Laußig (DB Cargo) entering the Laußig station. At first glance, it looks intact, but the signals are no longer in operation; train operations here are controlled manually. The train serves the local sleeper plant and, very rarely, another customer in Laußig. This train is the only regular train on the old Eilenburg–Pretzsch–Pratau line that continues beyond Sprotta. North of Bad Düben, the rest of the line to Pratau has been closed for years.
Rouen (France) - Après avoir quitté la manifestation et les Black-blocs, avec un collègue photographe, je suis passé par la place de la cathédrale où un motard de la police nationale m’avait signalé quelques incidents. Je savais que j’arriverai après la bataille. Je voulais juste voir s’il y avait des dégâts. En tombant sur cette scène, les violences avaient dues être modérées. Hormis ce tas de conteneurs qui commençaient à brûler, pas une vitrine des magasins (hors-champ) n’était brisée.
Trois personnes que j’avais pris pour des black-blocs, en raison de leur tenue vestimentaire, attendaient à proximité du « feu de joie ».
J’ai quand même été intrigué par le drapeau national, car celui des activistes anti-capitalistes est une tête de mort sur fond noir. Après avoir pris cette photo du jeune homme qui retire son drapeau avant qu’il ne s’embrase, je suis allé discuter avec les trois manifestants. En réalité, il s’agissait de Gilets jaunes, militants d’extrême droite, tendance complotiste, déguisés en Black-blocs. « Dès que les policiers voient un gilet jaune, il est immédiatement arrêté. La police, comme les syndicats, détestent notre mouvement, affirment-ils. Alors on s’habille en noir pour être moins identifiables. Mais notre étendard reste le drapeau tricolore ».
Rouen (France) - After leaving the demonstration and the Black Blocks, with a fellow photographer, I passed by the cathedral square where a motorcyclist from the national police had reported a few incidents to me. I knew I would arrive after the battle. I just wanted to see if there was any damage. By falling on this scene, the violence had to be moderate. Apart from this pile of containers that were starting to burn, not one shop window (off-camera) was broken.
Three people whom I had taken for black-blocks, because of their dress, were waiting near the "bonfire".
I was nevertheless intrigued by the national flag, because that of the anti-capitalist activists is a skull on a black background. After taking this photo of the young man removing his flag before it caught fire, I went to chat with the three demonstrators. In reality, they were yellow vests, far-right activists, conspiratorial tendencies, disguised as Black-blocks. “As soon as the police see a yellow vest, he is immediately arrested. Both the police and the unions hate our movement, they say. So we dress in black to be less identifiable. But our standard remains the tricolor flag”.

Voici le temps venu, en ces derniers jours de 2019, de dresser mon palmarès de mes sorties et rencontres aviaires. Cette année j'ai identifié trois moments fort, chacun se sont échelonnés sur plusieurs jours et même plusieurs semaines où certaines observations ont été vraiment plus que particulières, permettant à un grand nombre d'observateurs, de photographes et d'ornithologues de se rincer les yeux et de s'émerveiller le coeur... Chacun de ces moments auront été tout autant les uns que les autres fabuleux et époustouflants. L'incroyable, l'impensable, devenait réalité, et ce, jour après jour...
Mai, juin et juillet 2019 | Les trois nichées d'Angrignon...
Quel printemps phénoménal avec la découverte de ces trois nichées de Petits-ducs maculés dont je vous abondamment parlés depuis. Le tout aura commencé avec la découverte du nid de Odi et Philémon par l'ami Robert Dupont qu'il cherchait avec acharnement et entêtement depuis que nous la connaissions cette belle Odi au printemps 2017. Ses longues heures à arpenter patiemment le secteur anticipé lui auront permis de faire cette grande découverte qui aura abouti après avoir observé les allez et venu de Philémon qu'il avait localisé plus tôt au no 19. On peut le voir ici le beau Philémon bien installé aux abords du no 19 en avril dernier. Par la suite mon amie Barbara Marsolais m'a signalée la présence d'une nichée là où nous observions chanter avec frénésie jour après jour le beau Fernando nouvellement découvert, me laissant croire, à tort, qu'il était à la recherche désespérée d'une belle pour le combler. Et bien depuis les tous premiers instant où Robert et moi avons rencontré Fernando, sa belle Barbara était déjà en train de couver ses cinq oeufs tout près de là. Ce printemps Petits-ducs ce sera conclu par la nichée tardive d'Amandine et de son nouveau conjoint Edgar dont je vous ai entretenu récemment lors de mes voeux du temps des Fêtes. Et qui sait si Bobby, le mi-gris mi-roux découvert aussi au printemps n'aura pas eu lui aussi une nichée? Quel printemps!
C'est donc ce beau Fernando, sur une photo inédite, que je vous présente aujourd'hui pour illustrer cette deuxième partie de mon Palmarès 2019. Bien avant que nous eûmes connaissance de l'existence de la nichée, nous étions alors ce jour-là dans les dernières minutes de la trop belle lumière dorée. Ce sera la dernière fois que je l'aurai retrouvé à ce trou, le no 21. Par la suite, nous l'aurons retrouvé pratiquement tous les jours bien exposé dans les arbres entourant le lieu de la nichée, du jamais vu (voyez-le ici et ici lors de ces journées). Rappelons-nous qu'il s'agissait d'un lieu fortement exposé aux nombreux passants accompagnés tantôt de leurs enfants qui jouaient et tantôt de leurs chiens qui jappaient ou courraient sans oublier les familles qui pique-niquaient... Improbable!!! Magique!!!
P.s. : Ajoutons à tout cela la découverte du couple de rouquin de Laval et de la nichée longuement observée de l'île-Saint-Bernard, on peut vraiment parler alors d'un printemps Petits-ducs maculés des plus mémorables!

Les petits moucherolles ( genre empidomax) se ressemblent tous. On les distinguent à leur chant ainsi qu'à l'environnement qu'ils fréquentent.
Le Moucherolle vert est sans contre dit le plus rare à observer. Sa présence m'avait été signalée mais le secteur où il se trouvait n'était pas propice à l'observation, pas plus pour la photo. Un secteur de vieilles forêts d'arbres décidus à la limite du marécage. C'est son habitat ! J'écoute son cri sur le guide Sibley..
L'attente commence. Une vingtaine de minutes s'écoulent sans un mouvement dans la forêt. Puis sorti de nulle part, l'oiseau apparaît, se pose 2 secondes et va plus loin et revient et se pose à nouveau. J'entends son cri 2 fois ! Plus de doute , je réussis à trouver une fenêtre pour photographier l'oiseau et l'oiseau disparaît à nouveau ... Jour de chance ! : )
Small flycatchers (like empidomax) are all alike. They are distinguished by their singing and the environment they frequent.
The Acadian Flycatcher is without a doubt the most rare to observe. His presence had been pointed out to me but the area where he was was not conducive to observation, not for the photo. An area of old deciduous forest on the edge of the swamp. It's his habitat! I listen to his cry on the guide Sibley ..
The wait begins. About twenty minutes pass without a movement in the forest. Then out of nowhere, the bird appears, arises 2 seconds and goes further and comes back and arises again. I hear his cry 2 times! No doubt, I manage to find a window to photograph the bird and the bird disappears again ... Lucky day ! : ))

der SBB von SBB-Cargo und ChemOil mußte die Durchfahrt des LKW-Walter-Zugs abwarten und darf nun ihren Weg gen Süden über das Gleis 3 fortsetzen - währenddessen kündigt sich im Gleis 1 über das Signal die nächste Ausweiche an
Eisenbahn und die damit verbundene die Eisenbahnfotografie hat sich in den letzten Jahren stark gewandelt. Moderne Lokomotiven in einer mehr oder weniger unbegrenzten Vielfalt an Farben und Designs können europaweit vor Zügen bestaunt werden. Ebenso deutlich können Veränderungen beim Wagenmaterial und der Infrastruktur beobachtet werden, seien es Signale, Gleise oder gerodete Schneisen für mehrgleisige Magistralen. Wer all diesen Neuerungen (zumindest für noch eine gewisse Zeit) aus dem Weg gehen möchte, der sollte sich alsbald auf den Weg in das niederbayerisch-tschechische Grenzgebiet machen, genauer gesagt in den Böhmerwald im Streckenabschnitt der KSB 183 zwischen Nýrsko und Železná Ruda-Alžbětín. Dort angekommen erwartet den neugierigen Fotografen nicht nur eine erhabene, beinahe unberührte Natur, sondern auch wirklich „klassische“ Eisenbahn. Und natürlich hat(te) man dort die Möglichkeit, Lokomotiven der Baureihe ČSD-Baureihe T 478.4 (ab 1988 Baureihe 754) vor insgesamt acht Personenzügen zu fotografieren.
Um all dies noch vor der Umstellung auf moderne Triebfahrzeuge zum Fahrplanwechsel 2024 umsetzen zu können, ging es im August des vergangenen Jahres mit einem befreundeten Hobbykollegen in den Böhmerwald, tschechisch Šumava. Für das erste Bild des Tages wurde die Ortschaft Dešenice aufgesucht, denn laut den Informationen der kollaborativen Homepage Sledování (Ein herzliches Dankeschön an dieser Stelle) sollte die sog. „Pilsener Kirsche“ den Sp 1702 von Klatovy nach Železná Ruda-Alžbětín bespannen. Die formschöne Lokomotive der tschechischen Staatsbahn (České dráhy) 754 066-9 wurde wieder in den Auslieferungszustand (gegen Ende der 1970er Jahre) versetzt und trägt an den Stirnseiten auch die ursprüngliche Bezeichnung T478 4066.
Railways, and with them railway photography, have undergone significant changes in recent years. Modern locomotives in a virtually unlimited variety of colors and designs can now be admired across Europe. Similarly, changes in rolling stock and infrastructure are clearly visible, whether it’s signals, tracks, or cleared corridors for multi-track main lines. For those who wish to avoid all these modernizations (at least for a while longer), a visit to the Bavarian-Czech border region, more specifically the Bohemian Forest along the KSB 183 line between Nýrsko and Železná Ruda-Alžbětín, is a good option. Upon arrival, the curious photographer will not only be greeted by majestic, almost untouched nature, but also by truly "classic" railways. And of course, one had the opportunity (and still does) to photograph locomotives of the ČSD class T 478.4 (later known as class 754 from 1988) on a total of eight passenger trains.
To capture all of this before the transition to modern rolling stock with the 2024 timetable change, I travelled to the Bohemian Forest (Czech: Šumava) in August of last year with a fellow enthusiast. For the first picture of the day, we visited the village of Dešenice, as the collaborative website Sledování (a heartfelt thank you here) indicated that the so-called "Cherry of Pilsen" would be hauling the Sp 1702 from Klatovy to Železná Ruda-Alžbětín. The beautifully shaped locomotive of the Czech State Railways (České dráhy), 754 066-9, had been restored to its original delivery state from the late 1970s, and carries the original T478 4066 designation on its ends.
Der Bahnhof Herzberg (Mark) verfügt immer noch über gesicherte Einfahrten mit Formsignalen. Dazu kommen im Bahnhofsbereich Gleise in Kiesbettung, Weichenspannwerke und noch keine Hochbahnsteige. Dieses Kleinod in Brandenburg verlässt am 09.05. ein Pesa-Hai auf seinem Weg nach Rheinsberg. Im Vordergrund verläuft die Strecke nach Neuruppin.

Environ tous les quatre ans nous observons une irruption de Chouettes lapone au Québec bien que le cycle se soit quelque peu brisé depuis 2012. La dernière irruption importante était en 2017 mais je ne faisais pas de photographie animalière à l'époque. Celle de 2025 a été encore plus notable avec 65 lapones mentionnées au Québec. En janvier dernier nous avons commencé à voir plusieurs mentions de ces magnifiques chouettes qui nous arrivent de la forêt boréale affamées et amaigries car elles subissent un manque de nourriture dramatique. Une des hypothèses expliquant ces irruptions serait que les campagnols à doux roux de Gapper, leur nourriture privilégiée, se nourrissant des semences de conifères viennent eux aussi à manquer de semences car celles-ci auraient un cycle de quatre ans. Une autre hypothèse plus récente explique que les nichées auraient été si fructueuses menant à trop d'individus sur le territoire pour la nourriture disponible poussant ainsi plusieurs strigidés vers le sud. Nous avons eu la présence d'un individu à Laval qui était toujours sur place dimanche dernier. Ces Chouettes lapone ne sont pas faciles à trouver. Leur territoire est grand, elles se déplacent beaucoup, il faut souvent faire plusieurs sorties avant d'avoir l'occasion de l'admirer. J'ai eu la chance de la voir trois fois à Laval. Cependant, j'ai eu une très belle surprise en ce samedi du 22 février alors que je m'apprêtais à tenter ma chance de nouveau avec cette lapone de Laval. Mon amie Anouk m'a signalé la présence d'un autre individu et tout près de chez moi, au cimetière du Mont-Royal à Montréal. À mon arrivée elle commençait déjà à s'activer et cela pendant plus de quatre heures de temps. Une journée qui commençait si bien et qui fut un pur plaisir, épuisante aussi car notre vedette se déplaçait constamment et avec la neige abondante qui est tombée ce n'était pas si facile de la suivre. Le lendemain une autre lapone a été mentionnée sur le Mont-Royal. En me dirigeant vers le lieu où elle était les cris des corneilles m'a révélé une autre lapone qui était située à trois minutes de marche de l'autre. C'était bien celle du cimetière reconnaissable par ses quelques rémiges secondaires blanches. Je rêve toujours de la voir en chasse dans un champs, un jour peut-être, mais en attendant je vous présente cette image en vol où l'on voit ses longues pattes qui me font penser à celles d'un chat!
About every four years we observe an irruption of Great Gray Owls in Quebec although the cycle has been somewhat broken since 2012. The last major irruption was in 2017 but I was not doing wildlife photography at the time. The one in 2025 was even more notable with 65 Great Gray Owls mentioned in Quebec. Last January we began to see several mentions of these magnificent owls arriving from the boreal forest hungry and emaciated because they are experiencing a dramatic lack of food. One of the hypotheses explaining these irruptions would be that the Gapper's red-backed vole, their preferred food, feeding on conifer seeds, are also running out of seeds because these have a four-year cycle. Another more recent hypothesis explains that the broods would have been so fruitful leading to too many individuals on the territory for the available food thus pushing several owls towards South. We had the presence of an individual in Laval that was still there last Sunday. These Great Gray Owls are not easy to find. Their territory is large, they move around a lot, you often have to make several outings before having the opportunity to admire it. I was lucky enough to see it three times in Laval. However, I had a very nice surprise on this Saturday, February 22, when I was getting ready to try my luck again with this GGO from Laval. My friend Anouk told me about the presence of another individual and very close to my home, at the Mount Royal cemetery in Montreal. When I arrived, it was already starting to get active and this for more than four hours. A day that started so well and was a pure pleasure, exhausting too because our star was constantly moving and with the heavy snow that fell recently it was not so easy to follow it. The next day another GGO was mentioned on Mount Royal. As I headed towards where it was, the screams of the crows revealed another individual that was located three minutes walk from the other. It was indeed the one from the cemetery, recognizable by its few white secondary flight feathers. I still dream of seeing her hunting in a field, one day perhaps, but in the meantime I present to you this image in flight where we see her long legs that remind me of those of a cat!

Le phare du Petit Minou indique aux bateaux désirant se rendre à Brest, la route à suivre pour entrer dans la rade. Il forme un alignement avec le phare du Portzic.
Il comporte également un secteur rouge qui signale le plateau des Fillettes, l'une des roches immergées du goulet de Brest. Pour parer ce danger, certains marins utilisent ce moyen mnémotechnique :
« Le Minou rougit quand il couvre les Fillettes. »
Il se trouve en avant du fort du Petit Minou, sur la commune de Plouzané.
Haut de 26 mètres, il se trouve à 34 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Allumé en 1848 il est automatisé depuis 1989 et commandé depuis Brest. Son nom viendrait de min (pointe, en breton), au pluriel.

The Petit Minou lighthouse shows boats wishing to go to Brest the route to follow to enter the harbour. It forms an alignment with the Portzic lighthouse.
It also includes a red sector which indicates the Fillettes plateau, one of the submerged rocks of the Brest gully. To ward off this danger, some sailors use this mnemonic device:

It is located in front of Fort du Petit Minou, in the town of Plouzané.
26 meters high, it is 34 meters above sea level. Lit in 1848, it has been automated since 1989 and controlled from Brest. Its name would come from min (tip, in Breton), in the plural.

C'est ma première rencontre avec le plongeon imbrin (ou plongeon huard) dont la présence était signalée depuis quelques jours. Il était resté assez loin hélas mais pour une première je vais me contenter de cette qualité moyenne.
L'attitude rappelle celle du cormoran. Il est capable de rester sous l'eau durant 3 minutes, bien que ses plongées n'excèdent pas 40 à 60 secondes à environ 12 mètres de profondeur. En cas de fuite, des records de 10 minutes sous l'eau ont été enregistrés.(source oiseaux.net)

This is my first encounter with the Common Loon whose presence had been reported in recent days. It had remained quite far unfortunately but for a lifer I will settle for this medium quality.

The Cuban Black Hawk is an endemic bird of prey to Cuba and it has been reported seen on the Cayman Islands. It has a somewhat similar appearance to the Common Black-Hawk that is seen in North America and southward into the Central American countries. This large hawk feeds on prey from the sea and interior waters.

Le Buse noire de Cuba est un oiseau de proie endémique à Cuba et a été signalé sur les îles Caïmans. Il a une apparence quelque peu similaire à l'épervier noir que l'on observe en Amérique du Nord et vers le sud, dans les pays d'Amérique centrale. Ce grand faucon se nourrit de proies provenant de la mer et des eaux intérieures.
Am 11.08.2018 war 212 372 mit einem Sonderzug auf der Lahntalbahn unterwegs und passierte am Nachmittag die Signalgruppe von Weilburg. Zwar klappen hier noch die Signale, doch das Drumherum mit den neuen Signalen und allerlei Baugerümpel machen dieses Bild schon jetzt unmöglich.

Die Regionalbahn 446 038 nähert sich um 15 Uhr bei schon flach stehender Sonne dem Bahnhof.
Nun weiter gen Süden bei diesem herrlichen Licht - aber mit dem E-Auto.
Die letzten noch planmäßig genutzten Formsignale in den USA befinden sich in New Mexico an der fast ausschließlich von Amtrak genutzten Strecke von Raton, NM nach Las Vegas, NM. Vor wenigen Jahren hatten dort noch zahlreiche Bahnhöfe und Blockstellen Formsignale, bei unserem Besuch standen nur noch an der Nordseite des Bahnhofs Wagon Mound und an der Südseite des Nachbarbahnhofs Levy und einer Blockstelle dazwischen die alten Signale. Auch deren Tage sind vermutlich gezählt.
Im Bahnhof Wagon Mound fotografierten wir Amtrak 3 von Chicago nach Los Angeles mit den Loks 188 + 159, beide P42DC.
The last remaining semaphore signals still in regular use in the USA are located in New Mexico on the line from Raton, NM to Las Vegas, NM, which is used almost exclusively by Amtrak. Just a few years ago, numerous stations there still had semaphore signals. During our visit, the old signals were only still in place on the north side of Wagon Mound station and on the south side of the neighboring Levy station, with a block signal in between. Their days are likely numbered as well.

Die Signalkulisse von Oberhausen West, hier pulsiert das Leben. Das Personal des Stellwerks Oro hast hier alle Hände voll zu tun und Zug und Rangierfahrten zu koordinieren und dann die Fahrstraßen passen einzustellen. Hier zieht 232 182 als Rangierfahrt vor um zu ihrer nächsten Zugleistung zu gelangen.
