Jay & Lloyd's Kosher Deli is a 3rd-generation Jewish #delicatessen that opened in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn in 1993. They are known for their home-cured corned beef and pastrami and their friendly service. We not only love their hot dogs and homemade pastrami but also their unique #signage with a mix of #script and various #fonts and their hot dog wearing a hat 🎩 and bow tie logo. This dairy has been in business in the scenic Lake George area for decades. Unfortunately when we were there, they had already closed for the season -- but that did allow me the opportunity to freely roam around the building shooting all their signage, including this fun neon cake sign in one of their windows. (Their main sign with its fun rooster is awesome; you can find it in a few of my albums, including "we all scream" and "new york state".)
This was taken in 2014; on our recent trip out to LA this year, we didn't get the chance to get back out to Pomona so I don't know if they tore this down or just renovated it. Any locals know?

This family-owned Pork 🐖Store or #salumeria not only sells homemade #Italian 🇮🇹 pork sausages but all sells exclusively hanging #primebeef. We especially love the #signage with its happy pigs holding sausages in their hooves. Happy Year of the Pig 🐽 everyone! •

At least, I think it says "Jojo". The building didn't look anything like a sign shop or any kind of business. I suspect this sign company is long gone, with just this little bit of neon left.

I shot this in 2014, just down the road from Randy's Donuts; it's gone now...not the Arby's, just this sign. They put up a newer version. (The "Adult Video" portion is gone now as well -- it now reads "Video LAX".)

@denoswonderwheelpark The #wonderwheel was erected in 1920 and stands 150 feet high and holds 144 people at once. Its unusual design for a #ferriswheel incorporates sections of curved tracks connecting an outer wheel and a smaller inner wheel, with 16 swinging cars which roll back and forth between the two wheels. There are also 8 stationary cars. All of the cars give riders panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. We loved its #vintage #handpainted privilege #sign provided by Optimo #Cigars. You can get an idea of how old this photo is by looking at the price of a #cigarette box advertised on the #storefront facade. We used to see many stores with privilege signs (signs provided free of charge by a company in exchange for selling and advertising g their product) with the most common ones provided by Coca-Cola but as stores get modernized or go out of business the #signage is replaced. #typography #signgeeks #font #signgeeks #type #cigar #luncheonette #queenscapes #queens
