Album : Slane II 2013. / Dublin Bus.
By mid afternoon the well rehearsed traffic plan was in tatters. Completely overwhelmed by the massive volumes the N2 road to the south of the village seized up.
As Dublin Bus were (in conjunction with Bus Eireann & Marathon) quite simply the major provider of organised bus travel to the event they were afforded the maximum priority. Its extremely easy to criticise any body for whatever shortcomings manifest themselves. Garda outriders worked tirelessly in their efforts to escort buses into the bus only sterile area, this scene with AV244 was repeated time and time again, in reality few fans even realising the efforts made by the transport management team to get them there.

A visit to Kenilworth Castle on the late August 2017 Bank Holiday Monday. On a very hot and sunny day in Kenilworth!
From medieval fortress to Elizabethan palace, Kenilworth Castle has been at the centre of England's affairs for much of its 900 year history. Today, you can scale the heights of the tower built to woo Queen Elizabeth I and marvel at the mighty Norman keep. Explore the exhibition in the Gatehouse, and imagine the majesty of the Great Hall playing host to medieval monarchs and early Tudor kings.

Seen near the car park at Kenilworth Castle.
The shuttle bus was used on the busy Bank Holiday weekend, when the main car park at the castle was full (they advise you to park in the town centre instead and catch the free shuttle bus to the castle).
You can catch the free bus from the bus stop outside the Holiday Inn Kenilworth hotel on Abbey End. It takes you to near the entrance of the castle.
To get back to the town centre, the return bus waits in the car park.

The Presidio of Monterey's Hobson Recreation Center extended its normal operating hours throughout the annual 24-hour block leave shuttle bus program departure period Dec. 18 and 19. The Presidio Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) provided refreshments for service members and a place to relax, call home and rest comfortably while waiting for their buses to depart to their flights at San Francisco and San Jose airports. Due to the volume of Presidio service members that depart for block leave every year in December FMWR uses an online ticketing and scheduling for participants to plan and book their shuttle destinations and travel times. A check-in and information desk was set up at the departure site to assist and ensure service members made a smooth connection to their flights. The program is coordinated and run by the Presidio Outdoor Recreation & Leisure Travel Services, but the entire administrative staff of the Presidio FMWR works the 24-hour departure period to ensure participants make it home for the holidays. In January FMWR "reverses" the program so that service members returning to the Presidio are bussed back from the airports safely and affordably.
