Emphasis: I wanted the viewer to look at legs of the soccer players as often as viewers we are looking at the ball to follow where it is going

Composition: I used rule of thirds to ensure that the players shoes and ball stay in the bottom two rows as it is the main focus and their upper bodies in the top row

Slower shutter speed to completely stop motion but still fast enough to capture her playing clearly, while only slightly giving her the moving action

After the amendment, the effect of the pictures

the water is falling off of her nail and is begin focused on father then the background taken @ 1/3000

While I was waiting for the firework display to start. I took a few pictures of the funfair on slow shutter speeds to try to get that blurred light effect.

Testing different settings with my Canon SX100 IS in very low light situations. The lights are almost completely out in these photos.
