This is a composite of two separate photos; the administration building and a smashed glass block window. Both were taken at the Old Joliet Prison which was in operation from 1858 to 2002.
You feel like you have been shattered into countless pieces that can never be put back together. You don’t have to hide these shattered pieces in the dark. Maybe, as the light of grace and truth shines on your shattered pieces, it won’t always feel like this.

The word shattered came to mind when I saw these pieces of snow that had been chipped away and shoveled off our driveway. I felt I could deeply relate to what I saw. A little later in the day I was able to get outside and take pictures of the shattered snow.

This was yet another house left abandoned. I was able to enter this one from the front door. As I approached the porch I could see some belongings of the prior owner. Toys laid faded yet intact with remnants of clothing scattered about. The inside painted a scene of one final Christmas. The family Christmas tree dried up and fallen over inches from where it once stood. On a rather distressed coffee table stood a red vase with artificial flowers as though never disturbed. A torn couch was moved into the dining room as if the new arrangements were better form those currently taking up shelter. I was not able to venture further, as my co-worker/driver felt uneasy. The pondering questions still remain, where did they go, why did they go. How many more shattered lives will be claimed....
hi i'm back.
i quit flickr because i was angry at their new terms, but no one else moved anywhere better so i'm back as i miss the interaction with my images that comes from being on this website as well as not wanting to miss out on opportunities to blog for events and stores that require flickr accounts to apply. i have made the decision to delete all of my old photos and start fresh.

No sooner had I resigned myself to not seeing another clear night (or day) in the near future than the weather broke, and I was able once again prowl around in the dark. As usual, I used my cheap 14mm and a head torch to light the subject. Taken at Ballinrobe Racecourse, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

This picture is an homage to Jenny Frison's cover of Wonder Woman comic #15. The story arc being Wonder Woman's struggle as her reality falls apart. You should all go check out the comic, it is awesome!
