You have seen him on Discovery Channel during Shark Week. Now Andy Dehart is in Toronto for the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. He is the Director of Husbandry at Canada's newest aquarium which is currently under construction at the base of the CN Tower.
I was on assignment for Diver Magazine, taking a sneak peak at Toronto's newest attraction (set to open in September) with Dehart showing me the sites. He stands under a convex plexiglas viewing window that bulges inward into a saltwater tank that will be filled fish that are prone to schooling in tight balls ... right above your head.

This was supposed to be for yesterday! i'm not actually that pleased with how this turned out. It started off strong, but then i went downtown to check out a pooch parade and when i got back i sort of forgot about it. So i tried to finish it up quickly last night, but whatEVER. I couldn't get the lighting right or the pose or anything else, but pretend i didn't just say any of that and ENJOY!

Sharkzilla Beached Off Ventura Pier
Photographed June 11, 2012 in Ventura, CA

Mythbusters filmed an episode of their show South of the Ventura Pier on June 11, 2012. The episode being filmed for Shark Week featured their creation "Sharkzilla" - a 52 foot long mechanical shark capable of tearing a sailboat in half in it's mechanical jaws.
July 28, 2010: A massive Great White Shark has invaded downtown Silver Spring, MD.....or so it appears. This is the second time in four years that the Discovery Channel is promoting Shark Week by erecting a three-story high, inflatable shark on the facade of its headquarters. The float is 446 feet long, and attached to all four sides of the building. The shark's name is "Chompie". Chompie's head is facing the Silver Spring Metro station, so when you get off the Metro you will see Chompie's business end and depending were you are, you will see 0 or 1 or both of his Pectoral (side) Fins. His tail is hanging over Georgia Ave. Finally his Dorsal (top) Fin was atop the building.* Chompie will only be afloat until the 1st week of August. Shark Week begins August 1 The Discovery Communications building is located at 1 Discovery Place, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
*Update: It turns out the Chompie's Dorsal (top) fin broke during the violent storms that passed through the Washington D.C. Metro area on Sunday July 25, 2010. It has been sent out for repair :). Thanks to the Discovery Communications for taking me go up to roof for a different perspective on Chompie :) [07282010-006-C.PS.S5IS]

Jaw Ready for Shark Week??? I'm super excited, it's that time again, where it's not safe to go into the water and sharks are king. Can you believe how great this is! What could be better then Shark Week??? Oh wait Sharknado Week :D but that's next month so lets dive into some Sharktastic fun this week and maybe a few more prior to Sharknado Week :D
Here is my sweet great niece with her little shark hat and new Golden book of sharks - we are looking at the shark babies on this page :D
i decided that the previous pic was just too BLEH with that white background. So i gave these ridiculous characters an equally ridiculous background.

In honor of Discovery Channel's Shark Week. This is a card protector I bought a few years ago that guards the top of my monitors at work. I thought the red chair seemed and obvious environment for him to pose on. Such a cutie.
