When you take time to look there is so much life even on a rock on the beach.

Sound like Taylor Swift's pop song! these spoon bill pair feeding in the shallows

Photo taken when the lake was at a low ebb, down to less than a quarter of its usual size and the birds were all crowded together on its much-reduced edges. it's probably overflowing now.

Poking around near the marina, on a gray foggy afternoon in January, when the bay was as still as a mirror, and the yellow feet were the only touch of color in nature.

This Great Blue Heron stood in the shallows in full view from a foot bridge. It stayed there oblivious to me, as I moved around above it to try and get a clear shot.

Those mornings when the colours popping and your snapping ... you end up with a few different compositions. ... like this one for e.g.

Endlessly probing the shallows hidden by dense cover, one never knows if the elusive Wilson's Snipe will give you a look. Patience paid off this morning and I was rewarded when this one kindly stepped into view.

An Ibis in the shallows of a large pond in southwestern Florida takes a drink of water while standing on one leg. I continue to be amazed at the sharp focus of the Nikkor 200-500mm zoom lens... in this handheld shot with a 500mm reach, a drop of water is clearly visible as it runs down the Ibis's neck.

The circle of life continues uninterrupted: in order for one life to go on another life had to stop.

Saona Island (Spanish: Isla Saona) is a tropical island located a short distance from the mainland on the south-east tip of the Dominican Republic. It is a government protected nature reserve and is part of East National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional del Este). It is a popular destination for tourists from all over the Dominican Republic, who arrive in fleets of catamarans and small motorboats on organized excursions every day. The Island is famous for the natural beauty of its beaches, and has been used on many occasions by film-makers and advertisers looking for a stereotypical "desert island" setting for their film or product. It is promoted amongst European visitors as the setting for the famous Bounty chocolate bar advert.

The island was baptized "Saona" by Christopher Columbus, who discovered it in May 1494 during his second voyage to the Americas. The name was meant "... to honor Michele da Cune, Columbus' friend from Savona (italy). Columbus named Michele da Cuneo the first governor of the island.

The seas around the Island are rich in wildlife, with many species of birds and tropical marine fish, and there are large areas where natural sandbars offshore bring the depth to just a few feet. These are once again popular with the tourist trade, with small boats stopping hundreds of meters off the beach and disgorging tourists into the waist-deep shallows where they snorkel, drink and inspect the fields of starfish indigenous to the region.

I specify that I have never used gimmicks to increase the number of views.

Also, I don't change from hour to hour the loading time of my photos to get more visits to the detriment of other flickers.

La popolazione si aggira intorno ai 450 abitanti, localizzati soprattutto a Mano Juan e in misura minore a Punta Catuano;

Fu scoperta da Cristoforo Colombo il 14 settembre 1494 durante il secondo viaggio di esplorazione al Nuovo Mondo. Il nome Saona fu dato all'isola dal Navigatore in onore delle origini savonesi di un suo ufficiale. L'isola fu scoperta mentre Colombo, a bordo, al comando di tre caravelle con a bordo 98 uomini, la Nina, la San Juan e la Cardera, perlustrava la costa meridionale dell'isola di Hispaniola;

... il mio pensiero va alla mia dolce amica che oggi ha salutato per l'ultima volta una persona cara.
