Last evening I went to Whitaker Center (Sunoco Theater) in Harrisburg PA to experience Renaissance 2009 - a band I last saw live (it was just called Renaissance in those days) back in the late 1970s at Harrisburg's Zembo Mosque.
There were no pictures allowed during the concert, I was reminded when an usher noticed my camera. I was fine with that. I didn't intend to take pics during the concert anyway (though I'm sure that if we were allowed to take pictures, being in the second row seat just a few feet from the stage, I'd have found myself indulging even with no intentions of doing so). Yeah, I carry my camera everywhere I go just in case I notice something that draws my attention and I'll like to take a shot of it - you know, something that says, Hey buddy, take a look. NEAT, huh?. And as you might expect, that's just what happened. This is one of those hey buddys, taken on my way to the car after the concert - on 3rd Street (West side) just south of Market.
This evening Wrinkly asked me a question that I didn’t know the answer to… He asked me: Chunky… Why don’t I have a shadow?
And to be honest I don’t really know why he doesn’t and I’m not sure what to tell him. He seems really sad not to have a shadow. In the hope that it would cheer him up I told him that maybe his shadow is gone to get us some ice cream…

Shadow Box picture frame to frame a paper cut out art from China. The frame is made out of Texas Pecan left over from another job and I've spaced the artwork out from the white background to capture the Shadows.
Iceland gives a photographer what he craves the most.....dramatic play of light! Fickle weather means, you see great light boring holes through the cloud cover in one half of the frame & gray shadows in the other.

Sometimes things don’t go quite according to plan.
I've seen too many expected results turn into unexpected ways.

The shadow of the moon Prometheus can be seen as a small dark dot on
Saturn just below the narrow shadow cast by the rings in the center of
this image, which was taken almost a month after the planet's August 2009
equinox.
A large, bright cloud system is visible in the top left of the image. This
view looks toward the northern, sunlit side of the rings from about 10
degrees above the ringplane.
The novel illumination geometry that accompanies equinox lowers the sun's
angle to the ringplane, significantly darkens the rings, and causes
out-of-plane structures to look anomalously bright and cast shadows across
the rings. These scenes are possible only during the few months before and
after Saturn's equinox, which occurs only once in about 15 Earth years.
Before and after equinox, Cassini's cameras have spotted not only the
predictable shadows of some of Saturn's moons (see PIA11657), but also the
shadows of newly revealed vertical structures in the rings themselves (see
PIA11665).
The image was taken with the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera on
Sept. 4, 2009 using a spectral filter sensitive to visible light centered
at 619 nanometers. The view was obtained at a distance of approximately
2.7 million kilometers (1.7 million miles) from Saturn and at a Sun-Saturn
spacecraft, or phase, angle of 92 degrees. Image scale is 16 kilometers
(10 miles) per pixel.
The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European
Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory,
a division of the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, manages
the mission for NASA's Science Mission Directorate, Washington, D.C. The
Cassini orbiter and its two onboard cameras were designed, developed and
assembled at JPL. The imaging operations center is based at the Space
Science Institute in Boulder, Colo.

Some intense grain going on here, but it only happened to some of the exposures on the same roll. I guess you never know what you're gonna find when you pick them up at Walgreens.
