This was taken after work. I saw this guy working in a ditch surrounded by a green mesh portable fence. He was using his hoe. I could tell by his movement and the hoe appearing on the top of the fence with each strike. His white hat was the only thing visible throughout. His body makes for a nice shadow. It looks like a "fist". The hat's contrast with the green and blackness of the shadow make this nice.
Sometimes the shadow people like to steal away for a little while and be affectionate. Bundi, India.

This is a vase my Grandmother Myrtle gave to me and the flower is a Christmas Rose that is currently blooming like crazy in my garden.
I took this picture at the Ball der Technik, a social event from my university. This show was the midnight special at the ball. The group is called Shadow Dancers.
One of my favorite traditional black and white prints I made this year. Used 35mm film and printed on gelatin silver.

Slightly edited shot of shadows in Amsterdam. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing besides a bit of added contrast, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
As you might know, I love shooting wicked reflections, but sometimes I deviate from that theme and take pictures of other things, like shadows. They look cool and don't require any kind of special effects to achieve this, they're just awesome by nature. It's been a really crappy, cold and wet Summer so far, so shooting shadows is a bigger challenge than taking pictures of puddles, because of the missing light, so this is me trying to make the most out of bad situation, my cup runneth over and even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me...or something like that :)
Have a relaxed Sunday :)
