It was completely orange.

- taken on Friday Jan 8 2016...

It has been very hot days recently but the evening sun settling down with the fluttering clouds had looked too beautiful that I had to quickly catch it before missing the moment forever!!!

Locals and tourists alike pile up onto these rocks on Hampi island to watch the sun set each night over the immense boulders and temples scattered across the land. After the sun went down, the stars came up and the real magic began.

A fun picture to take! This was taken out of the window while driving up to Big White. Just happened to get a glimpse of the colors of the sun setting too.

She was not with us on the photo-walk....she was with her husband and child, photographing them as they moved about in the sand. They were the most beautiful TRIO I saw that day, quietly floating around each other, ever present of the others' proximity. For some reason I was mesmerized by them in the setting sun! :-)

In a narrow gap in the western horizon, the sun slowly slips away, his work

Maria Pizzuti is from Rome and as an artist she has worked in many different media. One of her better known sculptures is a large panel-beaten bronze piece, entitled An Croi Briste, is in situ as a famine memorial on Lower Mallow Street (near Steamboat Quay) on the Shannon River in Limerick city. I do not know why, at the site, it is entitled “Broken Heart” rather than “An Croi Briste”. Maybe there is a plaque in Irish that I failed to notice.

In the past I have complained about the condition of this monument and the lack of water in what was supposed to be a water feature. Somebody has made some attempt to tidy it up but the addition of large flowerpots was not a good idea and in my opinion they should be removed soon rather than later. It would appear that adding baskets or pots of flowers is a default solution by the city council in Limerick.

Mountain weather is cold already at night. Seeking patiently I've found traces of the incoming season, signs of the autumn bite.

Met with a bunch of photo enthusiasts at Stanley Park for a photo walk from Lost Lagoon to the Sea Wall a few days ago. Gorgeous place. Thanks, Nikon Canada for sponsoring.

We went out one evening to take a photo of Bamburgh Castle with the poppies in the foreground - I had thought the castle would be in bright light, but found it in silhouette - I hadn't bargained for how much further north the sun sets in mid-June. Still, I was quite pleased with the result - especially with the backlit poppies.

Taken on our recent holiday in Northumberland, England.

I always use smartphones to take a quick shot from this spot(restroom), but I took out my Leica to shoot the sunset this time.

Nana dancing bipedally in the meadow as the sun sets amid pink clouds and a vibrant blue sky. This sunset was phenomenal, enveloping the earth below with a brilliant coral colour. I had only a few minutes to capture this photo before it slipped away beyond the horizon.
