The air is cleaner, the sky is brighter, and all your worries melt away, just like the setting sun.

A late afternoon/early evening visit to Baskett Slough, Polk Co., Oregon

  

When we see a red sky at night, this means that the setting sun is sending its light through a high concentration of dust particles. This usually indicates high pressure and stable air coming in from the west. Basically good weather will follow.

The contrast of a setting sun against the drought stricken pine trees with a mix of less than desirable air quality and you have the illusion of fire, pic taken on 7-9-16 looking west from the cabin in the Shaver Lake area

Sydney on a golden afternoon photographed from the south east pylon of the harbour bridge.

Only one wish I had was that you were allowed to up past 5pm, I can only imagine the light trails that could be photographed.

We got less than an inch of snow today and it was pretty as it started covering the trees, but as the sun came out late the golden glow it left behind was striking.
