Sunday and Wall Street remains barricaded to the public and tourists alike, which means it has been effectively "taken over" for 9 days by Occupy Wall Street. Photos from Zuccotti Park, September 25, 2011.

On Sunday, September 10, together a few amazing new friends (read their interview about their life in Ikaria in Greek), we drove to Ammoudia plateau on the ridge of Mt. Atheras firstly, to go on with the endless task of marking the trails and secondly, as long as the mood was right, to find a good spot to set up a free style performance in the unique rock formations of the area.
The 27 pictures of this set were taken with 4 amateur and semi-professional cameras set more or less randomly. However, in spite of the lack of special equipement for such takes, thanks to all participants and particularly thanks to the powerful spirit of the location («genius loci»), we thought that the result was good enough to be shown.
«Movements inspired by the Rocks» is an evolution of, related to and partly motivated from:

2) «These Mountains are for Yoga!»

About the location, see map in «The little house in the desert»
Taking cover from a brisk wind on the South Downs, were these three Common Blue Butterflies - surely the last from the Summer of 2020.

I made some blueberry pancakes for breakfast this mornin' using the Bisquick mix and added some frozen blueberries (those frozen blueberries always come in handy if fresh ones aren't around). Well, hope ya'll have a wonderful Sunday . . . ;-)
22nd September 2018:
One lovely laptop out of action. We're hoping it's only the transformer that's died a death, but can't do anything until Wednesday when Graham goes off shopping.
If it's more serious poor Graham may regret having said I could use his and it maybe a while before we can get a new one.
Even worse, we needed to replace Graham's not mine. :0(
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

...Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
wake me up when September ends
like my father's come to pass
seven years has gone so fast
wake me up when September ends
here comes the rain again
falling from the stars
drenched in my pain again
becoming who we are
as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when September ends
summer has come and passed
the innocent can never last
wake me up when September ends...

Interesting rock formations on the cliffs at Hartland Quay, This is a good place for a starting point for coastal walking and is the place where I started the walk to Spekes Mill Mouth waterfall.
This was not in the forecast.. While in the Apostle Islands of Wisconsin. I kept checking the sr data and noticed a spike in the solar wind speed and density amongst other things. The Kp index index was at 1.. and in no time flat it hit G-2 class geomagnetic storm status. For me and my workshop group, there wasn't a better way to end our trip together. Looking forward to returning here soon!

This is a 10 meter tall sculptural element in the hotel lobby at the Westin, Malta. It's a real birch tree trunk and limbs which has been painted silver and adorned with long, willow-like "branches" of chandelier crystals. I love the way it looks from the lower level looking up from below the grand stairway.
To shoot this, I knelt and set my zoom and focus point and then carefully placed the camera on the ground with the timer and auto-focus on. I considered a square crop of the upper 2/3 of the frame but I decided it was too abstract and the window gave it context and allowed the viewer to "figure it out", which is important I think.
Thanks for looking!

This is my 12th Explore of 2023 and my Explore number 112 in total, since my first in March 2015.
Sunday morning in Victorville California just a couple of minutes before 7 AM. I had parked on the street the night before and was about to check in for my pickup when I looked out my passenger window and saw this ground squirrel basking in the morning light. Grabbed my A9 which has the long zoom lens already on and took a hand full of pictures. Some pictures had the little creature with it's eyes open, some half open, but this one really captured the mood best, eyes closed, relaxed and obviously enjoying the morning's sun and warmth. I think we can all relate to this kind of peaceful moment in our own lives. We all have basked in the morning light and the feeling is universally the same I believe for all creatures.
Haven't had many photo opportunities lately, but started my day with this and stopped several times throughout the day getting some pretty interesting landscape shots and ended the days photography with some Ram shots at Walker Lake in Nevada. I'll say more about that when I post one of those, but for now just know how excited I was. I've looked for Bighorn Sheep here for years because of the signs posted in the area warning about them frequently crossing the road. Dang, enough about the Bighorn for now. Will post sometime soon.

The 10th Annual Drive for the cure Canada (to raise Prostate Cancer awareness) held its annual car show at the Brampton Powerade Centre. there was a bevy of beautiful classic cars; so many wonderful automotive designs from years gone by and all in one place. there were well over four hundred cars on display. .
this Rolls Royce 1939 Silver Wraith was a splendid and elegant example of how beautiful a hand made car can be.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.
A view of One World Trade Center (formerly known as the Freedom Tower) rising up above the 9-11 Memorial Site from within the memorial.
Reflecting Absence.
Financial District, New York City.
The Memorial is a national tribute of remembrance and honor to the 2,983 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. The two memorial fountains at the memorial site sit in the spots where the two towers stood. They are each surrounded by granite borders that contain the names of all those who were killed in both terror attacks at the site. Together they make up the nation’s largest manmade waterfalls, and are at the heart of the design of the memorial, called Reflecting Absence. It was designed by Israeli-American architect Michael Arad of Handel Architects, a New York- and San Francisco-based firm.
