The 10th Annual Drive for the cure Canada (to raise Prostate Cancer awareness) held its annual car show at the Brampton Powerade Centre. there was a bevy of beautiful classic cars; so many wonderful automotive designs from years gone by and all in one place. there were well over four hundred cars on display. .
this Rolls Royce 1939 Silver Wraith was a splendid and elegant example of how beautiful a hand made car can be.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.

The Memorial is a national tribute of remembrance and honor to the 2,983 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. The two memorial fountains at the memorial site sit in the spots where the two towers stood. They are each surrounded by granite borders that contain the names of all those who were killed in both terror attacks at the site. Together they make up the nation’s largest manmade waterfalls, and are at the heart of the design of the memorial, called Reflecting Absence. It was designed by Israeli-American architect Michael Arad of Handel Architects, a New York- and San Francisco-based firm.

Last September we went for a week's break by coach in Llandudno and the surrounding area. We had a day's trip around Snowdonia. We have seen Snowdonia in clear air just once and it was 40 years ago, this visit was in the standard mist! Some of these were taken from the coach so there is a bit of movement.
Op 21 september 1991 organiseerden een aantal spoorweghobbyisten uit Rotterdam en omgeving een afscheidsrit voor de serie 2400 onder de naam 'Klassical Tour 2400'. Hiertoe werden vier loc's geselecteerd, ieder in een voor de serie 2400 historische kleur: de 2413 in het blauw, de 2450 in het rood/bruin, de 2444 in het geel/grijs en de 2530 in lila. De loc's reden met een goederentrein, de deelnemers werden in twee treinstellen Plan U vervoerd: de 126 en de 130. De rit vergde veel en nauwgezette voorbereiding van de organisatie en kenmerkte zich door een hoge organisatiegraad en een grote mate van discipline, waardoor de deelnemende veeleisende spoorwegfotograaf goed aan zijn trekken is kunnen komen.
De loc's 2530 + 2413 + 2450 + 2444 zijn zojuist aangekomen in Roosendaal met trein 68002 (van Budel via Weert en Roosendaal naar IJsselmonde). De loc's 2530 + 2413 rangeren onder de seinbrug.

Squirrels in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan on Monday September 12, 2016. Saw two squirrels over by the Bur Oak at Ross (the one that did not move) and got to feed them for the first time since construction started (they were in a work zone the whole time).

Ros has hardly changed a bit.... Phil will agree with that! %-)
When I was little.. probably not long after this...
Ros headed overseas for her big OE.
She worked in Canada for a while
Then on to London, where she worked and traveled around Europe and the UK too.
We had a big map of the world on the wall at home
And would put pins in all the places she traveled.
It was so exciting for us as kids! %-)
She would send us lovey cards and gifts too!
Ros inspired me to want to travel when I grew up.
She still has the travel bug... always will I'm sure!
I am so pleased for them both that they are getting away on adventures again...
Now that the boys are grown up!
So... have a WONDERFUL time in Turkey Ros....

Op 2 en 3 september 2023 vond weer het jaarlijkse stoomtreinenfestival 'Terug naar Toen' bij de VSM plaats, tussen Apeldoorn en Dieren. 'Highlight' was de enkele weken rijvaardige loc 41 241, die na een zeven jaar durende restauratie bij de VSM weer in dienst kwam. Verder namen de VSM-loc 23 071, 23 076, 44 1593, 50 307, 50 3654, 52 3879, 64 415, 65 018, 2459 en 2530 deel. De Stoomstichting Nederland was gekomen met de 01 1075 en de 23 023. Al met al elf stoomloc's en twee diesels.
Achter de door loc 50 3654 getrokken goederentrein van Beekbergen naar Apeldoorn VAM hing loc 2530 ‘De Bisschop’. Deze mocht in de ochtend van 2 september 2023 de goederentrein van Apeldoorn VAM naar Beekbergen terugtrekken. Op deze foto is ze in actie bij De Els in Lieren.

It was Five years today September 4, 2015 that Canterbury was first shaken by a major quake, the people of Christchurch gathered on New Brighton beach this morning to mark the anniversary. I went with a friend but she didn't want to get up so early so we missed part of it. New Brighton Christchurch New Zealand at dawn.
There was a person from Radio News interviewing people there about their experiences of the earthquake five years ago and I was on the Radio News and also in a article.
