I will always remember the vivid color of the September Dahlias that rainy day in Iveraray, Scotland. The contrast between the flowers and the rain was unforgettable. It's funny what stays indelibly in your memory. I love the month of September, so mellow and lovely as the season's change and the days grow crisp and short.
"Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile." ~ William Cullen Bryant
Fragmented Rays Of Morning...
Standing there in the early dusk, the new morning sun struggled to break through the pale grey mist, which had settled deep in the woods overnight.
This previously darkened space slowly began to awaken as the sun made its way skyward, the light becoming stronger and brighter with each passing minute... sending small darts of sunlight piercing through the fog, spreading outward like little beams of white; each one riding upon the fog scattering the darkness.
It was as if the coming day was drawing a picture for me upon the canopy of the fog shrouded trees. Reminding me that there is hope in each new day, there is an unspoken promise of new opportunity, that light overcomes darkness every single time, though sorrow may last through the night, joy comes in the morning.

One September morning I awoke early whilst staying in North Devon and just had time to walk out on to the cliffs as the sun was rising, sheep were grazing peacefully in the field and the automated radar station made an interesting focal point on the horizon.
Sunday 24th September 2017 - I took the chance to photograph more buses in the Crystal Palace area; also on a Sunday but there was a lot more traffic this time around compared to my last visit on Sunday 11th December 2016; also it was slightly earlier. Plenty of buses were seen included a Go-Ahead LX06 Plate LDP Dennis Mini Pointer Dart that I saw working on Route 322
A setting September sun breaks through the bright green leaves of Virginia creeper curling around the garden lattice screen. Play of sunlight and shadows.
The vibrant and multi-cultural ambience of slowly drifting into a late-September evening in Paris....with jet lag.

The first September page in my watercolor moleskine nature journal. Both specimens were sketched with stabilo water soluble pens. Love those! I think being sick had a detrimental effect on my penmanship... so much nicer on the wolfberry. sigh.
The Tracks Of The Sun........
This sunset in mid September was subdued due to the smoke that was in the atmosphere; caused by the US west coast fires.
The idea that this cloud of smoke has drifted over 3000 miles to affect our sunset boggles the mind, even as i try to grasp the scope of just how big these fires really are.
We have friends in California and Oregon and pray for their safety and the safety of all those affected.
This image is of the yellow burst of sun generated just as the setting Sun was filtering its golden rays through the thick lower atmosphere.. or in layman's terms Sunset LOL.
