Just messing with effects! Happy Friday everyone, and to those affected by the latest snow chaos, stay warm and safe! :-)
This photos is made up of 2 layers one is the black and white copy of the image and the other is the original in colour, I used a layer mask to reveal only the colour of the eyes in the final version.
I spotted this flower poking out from some tatty autumn leaves by the side of the road into town.

...a long time ago, when Tessi was only 9,5 weeks old. Today she turns 8 ツ
I have lots of nice images of Tessi and her friends in this album:
Another 'rescued' shot from my visit to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation yesterday. The original has a hazy green grid across it from the thick wire fence. Turning this into a mono image, with a bit of extra processing, helps to disguise it. I would so love to have been closer to the fence, but that's only possible on special photography days. I'm still hoping to do one of those later in the year. It was very grey yesterday and incredibly hot and humid. Many of the big cats seemed to feel the same about the weather as I did. I'm ducking as I say this, because many people disagree, but the fresh, crisp days of Autumn can't come soon enough for me. :)
We made chocolate marshmallows today. I melted the chocolate and dipped the marshmallows, Andrew put the M&Ms on top (and ate a fair few) and James licked the spoon
This lovely old Ford Police car was on display yesterday outside the Museum of Liverpool to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Merseyside Police.
The cold nights have arrived. The wasps of summer have disappeared and their abandoned nests are all that remain.
This nest had fallen from its tree onto a forest trail. I photographed it from the ground and then processed the image selectively, removing all the colour from the scene, except for that of the nest itself.
A very handsome cat with the most astonishing colours, seen in the local churchyard.

Playing a bit of catch up on week 25. Greed seemed a good enough sin to play with, but he didn't get too far with my money.
This is no reflection on what actually happened on Christmas Day - we had a lovely day (and a very pleasant morning walk in Rowney Woods, which we had all to ourselves)...but it was an amusing title.
Yet another macro shot - I'm really, REALLY loving this new lens, and a new technique to remove all but one colour from an image, leaving just the rusty part of this metal loop in colour. I'm quite pleased with the effect, here.
I came across this classic motorbike in Istanbul. I watched hundreds of admirers stop and look at it while I was having lunch at a nearby cafe :)
Another shot taken back at the start of January....... really running out of new stock now and need to get out for a day behind the lens.
