Our Daily Challenge - Bed - 9/15/11

It makes a wonderful blipping and humming noise. It could roar to life and attack at any time!

Both cats are intrigued, although Newton is only showing his paws. Normally, Newton lets Pete be the canary in the coal mine, and when the scanner wakes up and starts snapping its lid, Newton wants to be sure Pete's first to get it.

I love that strong grain of this picture!

It`s "natural", No editing, nothing!

Ich liebe diese starke Körnung, sie ist "natürlich", ohne Bearbeitung!

I did this image of Coreopsis using a flatbed scanner. Santa Maria, CA.

Rose enjoys the BC330t scanner. She may be a little geek at heart.

Another image from the Frisco, TX Superdrome. I'm trying to work out some kind of home-brew negative holder for my scanner, as the stock one sucked to begin with and is now broken. This one works OK and I'll probably make another of a similar design out of plastic (cardboard is hardly ideal), but I need to work out the thickness to optimize sharpness. This scan is sharp enough for small web use, but not enough for print.

Helvetica goodness on an old abandoned scanner.

The result of scanning your face(not recommended)!

My second attempt at cartoonifying, I used some of the techniques suggested by the lead animator on A Scanner Darkly (thanks duvtljnt). Everything was done by hand except for the wood for which I just used some filters, otherwise I'd still be working on it till year's end. As you can see the technique on this one is slightly different from my previous one and rather improved.
