During the night of November 23rd 2012 I was on my way back from a brief visit to the Mont-Cenis area (2.083 m), France.
After walking for eight hours (four hours in the dark for the return, taking pictures), I was now driving my car when I began to think about these abstract photos, so popular today.
To be precise the results maybe aren't popular at all, because most people do not even understand "what's going on" in the final products :-)) but pleasing others isn't my top priority.
I see that many skilled photographers are embracing these techniques, and, yes, I guess this is definitely a good thing!
So, I asked myself "why taking these pictures only at sunset/dawn... why not ask for help of the night!"
Since the final results of these experiments generally tend to a sort of "painting look", along with an aura of mystery typical of all abstractions, I really thought the night, one more time, could be a powerful ally.
Here you can see a few tree trunks along the road that connects Susa (Italy) with the Mount-Cenis (France). Shot taken at night with a vertical movement of the camera during a slightly long exposure.
The blue dominant above is given from the night sky. The light reverberating on the trunks is coming from the headlights of my car, oriented properly and at due distance.

Using the scanner as a camera. Epson V550 Phot Scanner. Scanning natural objects and then making some adjustments on contrast.
PIE PrimeFilm XA Plus does well by keeping the negatives flat. Get a kick on the instruction manual "If the film does not feed properly turn it on the side and bang it lightly" With this scanner I get a complete scan as the V700 I was missing out on the grain that makes a complete scan.
1/5
I finally found my scanner cords so some of you may notice my images may start appearing brighter and more transparent again.
Did this one @ 5000 DPI. Don't really see my need for 10,000 DPI MAX that this scanner claims it can do.
Dieses Bild wurde mit einer Android-App zum Scannen von Dokumenten fotografiert. Direkt und ohne Umweg über einen Druck. Es erinnert mich an frühe Experimente mit dem Fotokopierer.
This picture was taken with an Android document scanning app. Directly and without going through a print. It reminds me of early experiments with the photocopier.
