I saved the day & saved the deer. We were driving out by Bear Lake this afternoon. One of hundreds of deer run across the road in front of us. This one didn’t jump the fence very well. It had three of its legs caught in the barbwire. I had a pair of pliers & I struggled up the bank through the snow. I got one back leg out, but the pliers wouldn’t cut the fence. Lynette threw me the lug wrench & I was working to free the deer. Finally another car came by & the guy helped me free the deer.
These cupcakes were created for the Pitt Bull Rescue of San Diego. They are chocolate cupcakes with green peanut butter frosting and handmade fondant doggies.
A magnificent beer, saved to be one of the last three out of the box.
Dark, well carbonated and full of flavour.
Did not disappoint.
Should be on draft in all pubs.

After yesterday's long delays, followed by our chaotic arrival at Coimbatore, we got to spend hardly any time in what would probably have been a delightful hotel, before we are hauled out of bed for the morning train on the Nilgiri Railway.

Save the hackney pylons! These are stunning structures, part of Hackney and East London's industrial heritage. They are being cleared as part of the Olympic beautification. These landmarks are being demolished without a word of protest or even discussion.
