Im Oktober 1979 fand eine Bereisung der Überlandstrecken der Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB) und der Elektrischen Bahnen der Stadt Bonn und des Rhein-Sieg-Kreises (SSB) statt. Im Bereich der damalige Linie H (heute Linie 66) erfolgte ein Besuch des Depots Beuel und eine Besichtigung der dort abgestellten Alt- und Arbeitsfahrzeuge.

Im September 1978 fand auf dem Betriebshof Friesdorf ein Tag der offenen Tür statt. Der Betriebshof Friesdorf wurde 1892 als Teil der Straßenbahn Bonn-Bad Godesberg-Mehlem in Betrieb genommen. Er liegt zwischen den Haltestellen Max-Löbner-Straße und Hochkreuz. Bis zur Eröffnung des Betriebshofs in Dransdorf waren hier Schienenfahrzeuge stationier – heute die gesamte Busflotte der SWB Bus und Bahn. Die Zufahrt aus Richtung Godesberger Allee wurde mittlerweile zugebaut.

Zum Arbeitswagenbestand der SSB / SWB gehörte auch der Triebwagen A41. Er wurde 1967 von der Kleinbahn Siegburg-Zündorf übernommen.
Im Zuge einer geplanten Modernisierung der Kleinbahn Siegburg-Zündorf wurde 1956 ein moderner vierachsiger Triebwagen der Maschinenfabrik Eßlingen gekauft, der sich jedoch nicht bewährte. Er kam 1967 an die Elektrischen Bahnen der Kreise Bonn-Stadt, Bonn-Land und des Siegkreises (SSB) und wurde dort als Arbeitswagen A 41 eingesetzt. Dieser Wagen kam 1988 nach Amsterdam, dort ist er heute vermutlich im Amsterdam Vervoer Museum (AVM) erhalten geblieben.

This was a period when sports racing cars were less specialised than today and racing successes helped Ferrari become the quintessential sports car manufacturer. Stirling Moss, a famous British racer, never raced officially for the factory, but he had several wins in privately-owned Ferraris and won the 1960 Tourist Trophy in this car.

The 250 GT SWB Berlinetta was the ultimate Ferrari GT for years since its 1950s prototype debuted, with a shape so pure and well balanced that Sergio Pininfarina called it "the first of our three quantum leaps in design with Ferrari." One of only 20 cars built, this SEFAC (Scuderia Enzo Ferrari Auto Corse) chassis 2845, was sold new to Count Volpi under the manager's infamous Scuderia Serenissima. It has an extraordinary racing history that includes a very impressive Third Place at the Tour de France, finishes at the 1000 Km de Paris and Daytona 3-hour Continental as well as multiple Italian hill climbs and vintage races throughout Germany.
The successor to the successful Series I was the Series II, which saw a production run from 1958 to 1961. It came in 88 in (2.24 m) and 109 in (2.77 m) wheelbases (normally referred to as the 'SWB' and 'LWB'). This was the first Land Rover to receive the attention of Rover's styling department. Chief Stylist David Bache produced the familiar 'barrel side' waistline, with a 5 in (12.7 cm) greater width to cover the vehicle's wider tracks, as well as the improved design of the truck cab variant, introducing the curved side windows and rounded roof still used on current Land Rovers.
The Series II was the first vehicle to use the well-known 2.25-litre petrol engine, although the first 1,500 or so short wheelbase (SWB) models retained the 52 hp (39 kW) 2.0-litre petrol engine from the Series I. This larger petrol engine produced 72 hp (54 kW) and was closely related to the 2.0-litre diesel unit still in use. This engine became the standard Land Rover unit until the mid-1980s when diesel engines became more popular.
