Im Oktober 1979 fand eine Bereisung der Ãœberlandstrecken der Stadtwerke Bonn (SWB) und der Elektrischen Bahnen der Stadt Bonn und des Rhein-Sieg-Kreises (SSB) statt. Im Bereich der damalige Linie H (heute Linie 66) erfolgte ein Besuch des Depots Beuel und eine Besichtigung der dort abgestellten Alt- und Arbeitsfahrzeuge.

Die Teilnehmer reisten von Köln aus mit den Triebwagen SWB 7753 und KVB 2012 an. Im Bonner Bereich wurde die damalige Linie S nach Siegburg befahren.
Man beachte die Oberleitung mit Quertragwerken.

Um den Bau der Baundesstraße 42 zu ermöglichen, gab es im März 1981 Schienenersatzverkehr im Teilbereichen der damaligen Linie H. Züge aus Bad Honnef endeten in Oberdollendorf. Von dort ging es mit dem Schienenersatzverkehr nach Ramersdorf weiter.

Zum Arbeitswagenbestand der SSB / SWB gehörte auch der Triebwagen A41. Er wurde 1967 von der Kleinbahn Siegburg-Zündorf übernommen.
Im Zuge einer geplanten Modernisierung der Kleinbahn Siegburg-Zündorf wurde 1956 ein moderner vierachsiger Triebwagen der Maschinenfabrik Eßlingen gekauft, der sich jedoch nicht bewährte. Er kam 1967 an die Elektrischen Bahnen der Kreise Bonn-Stadt, Bonn-Land und des Siegkreises (SSB) und wurde dort als Arbeitswagen A 41 eingesetzt. Dieser Wagen kam 1988 nach Amsterdam, dort ist er heute vermutlich im Amsterdam Vervoer Museum (AVM) erhalten geblieben.

ex SWB tram car "Bönnsche Bimmel", preserved as a conference room in Bonn, Germany.
The car is based on a 1911 trailer car, built by P. Herbrand & Cie. of Köln for the Bonn-Bad Godesberg-Mehlem tram. In 1950, this car was rebuilt as a motor car by Westwaggon and operated as #314 untill 1975, a year before the tram line itself was replaced by the new, partially underground Stadtbahn. After some years of use as a maintainance vehicle, the tram was restored for use a party tram. As such, the "Bönnsche Bimmel" was operated from 1989 to the late 2010s. In 2020, the tram car was placed at the Base Camp hostel, where it is used a conference room.
Swedish Railways (SJ) B Class #1697 was built for the Stockholm-Västerås-Bergslagens Järnvägar (SWB Railway) in 1944 by Nydqvist & Holm AB of Stockholm. It was numbered 101 in the SWB fleet.
The SWB was nationalised in 1945. Eventually the locomotive became part of the Swedish Strategic Steam Reserve. It was acquired for preservation in 1979 and was a regular performer on the Nene Valley Railway for a number of years
It is now out of service requiring an overhaul but has been cosmetically restored.
SJ 1697 is seen drifting into Wansford Station on the NVR on a sunny day in August 1980
