Grizzly 399 is the most famous brown bear mother in the world, with her own Facebook and Twitter accounts. She is followed by as many as 40 wildlife photographers, and millions of tourists come to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to see her and the other grizzly bears. I was delighted to finally observe at least one bear in the wild.

This car competed in the Shell Historic Ferrari Maserati Challenge Race at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1999. It's the 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione of German driver Gerhard Schwing and is chassis 1887GT. This is the competition version of the Ferrari 250 GT, one of 74 built by Scaglietti, with an aluminium alloy body and the Gioacchino Colombo designed 2,953cc V12 engine. The blue car number 57 beside it is the similar 1960 Ferrari 250GT SWB Competizione of Dutch driver Bart Rosman and is chassis 2179GT, which was originally campaigned by the Belgian Ecurie Francorchamps.

Alfa Romeo 8C 2900A Spider 1936, the last remaining of 4 supercharged straight 8 spyders created amazingly, in house to tour Europe and show off Alfa's racing heritage in this amazing road car.
Currant owner Simon Moore purchased 412007 as a chassis from the United States with no body or engine in 1980. Three years later he discovered the body in Huntington Beach California mounted on top of a Thunderbird chassis built up for racing at Riverside. Remarkably, the original chassis plaque, complete windscreen and soft-top were still mounted.1
By 1987, 412007’s chassis and body were remarried for entrance in the 1987 Mille Miglia retrospective. The car carried it’s ‘DLY 163’ license plate and blue paint which it carries in England for some time. Later the car was repainted again for 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in its original hues of red and cream.
I photographed this fabulous gem in the pits at Laguna Seca, enthroned next to another one of the all time greats, a SWB Ferrari 250 Berlinetta. Both have a wet polish of astonishing mirror finish. In 1936 Enzo Ferrari was operating the works racing team for Alfa. Post war he went off on his own taking with him the prancing horse, and continued to win races.
