Lightning Storm / Storm Lightning / Weather

Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm look for direction on how to take better lightning pictures so tell me what I did wrong.

If I still lived in Oklahoma I would be scared to see this but in brasil nothing happens when storms look like this they just poor rain and sometimes get lightning out of them but no high winds, tornadoes,or etc....

A dramatic summer storm moved across the canyons, Waha mountains and Lewis-Clark valley this evening. The sky was changing rapidly. Lightning flashed, thunder rolled, rainbows and virga rain clouds appeared. God outdid himself here. Looking southeast from Sparrowhawk estates off Peola Rd, Clarkston, Wa

These were lovely storm clouds seen from my bedroom window over Whinmoor on 23-9-10, they were that good I sent to pic in to my local BBC News programme 'Look North' and they showed it on the half hour evening bulletin.
