Oh do I love dramatic skies! ~ lol~ We have a storm rolling in, now the clouds are not as fun and the lightning we were watching (that was off in the distance) is gone, so I apparently had good timing! ~ I love watching storms, unfortunately we have too many trees in our backyard so we don't get a great view, but I'll take the trees over the view any day. Love the green that surrounds us. ~
It was luck that this storm was rolling in as I left work. Took a right at Hwy 74 rather than a left to go home and this is what I found. Great afternoon!
The clouds seemed menacing and tornado warning sirens blared, but outside of some rain, most of the storm went north of the village.

Manly after a storm.
The lightning strike occured while I was taking the shots for the panorama. I was lucky enough to take a picture when the lightning hit. I didn't even realise I caught it until I looked through my pictures later at home.

Today our heat wave had it’s back broken by a vigorous cold front. I knew the associated storm front would arrive during the evening commute but alas I wasn’t able to get out of the urbanized part of the city before it went through. Here’s a view of the storm between two cells, as seen from Old School Road in Caledon. After taking this photo I learned the storm had vigour as well, taking several trees down with it and damaging a barn roof. Impressive for a worst first gust front type storm. I pulled this into PS to tweak the levels with a gradient layer mask to pull the ground up a bit.
My Bushnell trailcam takes a serious battering during the biggest storm surge in over 60 years. It remained fastened to a post surrounded by boulders for 2 hours before the whole lot was finally washed away. It then recorded segments over the next 4 hours as it was washed around in the surf. It still works!!
