I woke up this morning

I looked outside my window

Where children lighting up the Christmas tree

And the snow is falling

It reminds me of the good times

Those winters we would spend just you and me

It's been such a long time

But tomorrow's Christmas day

And I am on my way

... spend some time with yourself every day

The oystercatcher is a large, stocky, black and white wading bird. It has a long, orange-red bill and reddish-pink legs. In flight it shows a wide, white wing-stripe, a black tail and a white rump that extends as a 'V' between the wings.

Because it eats cockles, the population is vulnerable if cockle beds are overexploited.

They breed on almost all UK coasts. During the last 50 years, more birds have started breeding inland. Most UK birds spend the winter on the coast where they are joined on the east coast by birds from Norway.

In the UK, Isle of Man, and Ireland, the Oystercatcher is resident in most coastal areas. It has an "Amber" status because it is considered Vulnerable in Europe and Near Threatened globally.

The yellow billed cuckoos are a fascinating little bird and they love spen ding time together sitting close together on a branch. It brought a smile to my face and I could not help but think they are certainly conserving space. They could not be closer !! Fun to see as they fly about the farms in the Campos !

Wishing you a lovely and blessed evening !

After spending some time taking sunset photographs at Belle River, Ontario’s harbour, I started to leave. As I began to drive away, I glanced at this pier that juts out into Lake St. Clair. The clouds and the light were just too awesome to pass up. So I went back out into the windy, cold night to grab more wonderful sunset photographs.

He carries me through times or darkness.

He lives to silence all my fears and wipe away all my tears.

He makes me feel at peace in heart and calms my troubled mind.

He lifts me up when I am feeling down, gives me hope and inspires me.

He listens, understands my past and believes in my future path.

He walked into my life and accepted me the way I am.

He is my earthly Angel with a beautiful mind.

♪ Earth, Wind & Fire - I write a song for you ♪

Oh-oh, oh-oh

Joy of a song's delight

Ansel Adams would slap a red filter on his lens, then spend three days burning and dodging in the dark room, making his prints. That’s a manipulation. Even the photographs of Henri Cartier-Bresson, with all due respect to him, are notoriously burned and dodged :-)

After spending hour at dam for nice sunset, the things did not work out, so finally left, as i was driving away, my eyes caught the glimpse of bright blue light in sky, so pulled over and took this shot. I think the wait and persistence paid off!

The Painted bunting is a small brightly-colored member of the cardinal family. The males are brightly colored with blue, green, red and yellow plumage. Females and juveniles are bright green with pale rings around their eyes. The male is considered by many to be North America's most beautiful bird, and they are one of the most popular visitors to bird feeders. Painted buntings are one of the most spectacularly colored and visually impressive birds in the United States and are the only U.S. bird with a blue head along with red underparts.

Painted Buntings are still fairly common, but populations have been dropping for several decades. The North American Breeding Bird Survey estimated a decline of 62% between 1966 and 1995, but the 1966-2014 survey does not find significant decreases, suggesting that populations may have stabilized, or at least the decline has slowed, since 1995. Partners in Flight estimates a global breeding population of 13 million, with 80% spending at least part of the year in the U.S., and 51% in Mexico. The species rates a 12 out of 20 on the Continental Concern Score, and is not on the 2014 State of the Birds Watch List. Painted Bunting is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List.

Found this male in Lake Wales, Polk County, Florida.

Spending quiet time together at our home.

I didn't spend much time in the city but I did want to try a pano from Pier 14 and Pier 7. It was a very rainy day. The rain finally subsided for about an hour and then started right after I got this. It was a very wet, windy and cold walk back to my hotel. This is the new boundary wrap pano feature in LRCC. If the weather had been better I am sure a lot more people would have been on the pier so maybe it was just as well that the weather wasn't that great.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

She spends much of her day sleeping now, lying on the comforter with an old throw pillow, raising her head at any commotion, but rarely rising to see. Lying outside when the day cools is another pleasure, watching her world go by. What a wonderful companion she has been. 💔

After spending some time scouting The Queen's Garden Loop Trail on my 2nd day, I returned later that evening and ran across this unique looking tree and it reminded me of the photos i've seen of the old gnarled tree in Schulman Grove in the Bristlecone Forest, which still sits on my bucket list. This one turned out a bit grainy even though I used some light panels and ISO 1600 to minimize the noise but I thought it still looked interesting. I still have a lot to learn and this is part of the road to MW nirvana which still eludes me. I suspect it's the fact that I have a crop sensor camera when I really should be using a Full Frame for this kind of photography, or it could be operator malfunction and inexperience. I probably won't know until I upgrade, I'm holding out for the 6D Mrk II which should be out spring 2016. :)

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great week ahead everyone :)

Got to spend some quality time with my Mom today. It was a good day indeed. We drove around the lake and admired the views. A little more of the artistic side of my photography. A few lean more to the abstract side of what I see when I'm in nature. Time is oh so short, that is today's life lesson from Mother Nature.

This rocks formation called "Devil's teeth" on the Senja island near Tromso in Norway is a "must see" spot on the Senja trip. I spend just a few minutes here and promised to be back next time.

I'm spending a lot of time with the birds at the moment...

It's cold.. they're hungry. In return for food, I get to photograph them. It's a good equation :-)

I think this one probably has a leg injury, otherwise these birds rest and sleep standing up. But it looked content... calm. I'm sure it was enjoying the light.

Spending a calm day boating under the pretty fluffy clouds

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜 💕💕💕

Sea otters spend the majority of their day taking it easy, resting by floating on their backs. Groups or "rafts" of sea otters congregate in calm, quiet waters. The highest number of sea otters recorded in such a raft totaled over two thousand animals - that would have been quite a sight to see!

This one would float peacefully, stretch a bit and preen, then resume the "position." Sounds like a great way to spend a lazy, Friday afternoon!

Have a blessed weekend! Thank you so much for your views and comments! They are greatly appreciated!

I have to ask my Flickr Friends what sense does it make in spending this vast amount of money on politics when we need it for life globally and here in the USA whether it be food, drink, health, climate change and war amongst other things? Are all the dollars really worth it? Can democracy really be bought? How much difference do the dollars actually make?

Still spending most of my shooting time focused on Barred Owls, and most of my weekend was spent observing this individual who I found on Friday. It seems to spend most of the time hunting a small field, and is more tolerable to humans than most of the other birds I've encountered recently. Watching it hunt on Saturday during the snow was a dream experience for me, and was very lucky to capture this one sharp frame in this sequence.

After spending time investigating Roberts Creek, I drove along the coastal road and found the Roberts Creek Provincial Park. This entire area attracts a good deal of tourism in the summer so this time of year finds those same places somewhat empty of people. Except for one other person, this place was mine to play in.

After many angles, and numerous shots, this is the image that was in my mind. The sweeping stone stairs on a hill had drawn my attention, with the carpet of Autumn leaves laying undisturbed. Their vivid colors were in stark contrast to the grey stairs, while the fence and green foliage would support them in the background. I wanted to exaggerate the stairs and how they swept across the view so getting close with a wide angle lens was necessary. It was a fun afternoon with the time needed to find what lay behind the camera.
