All the rain missed us but I bet Photomajik got it. Pic came out dark due to settings on the camera & the angle it was taken.
This morning the sun (as seen from Dysart) rose between the Bass Rock and Craigleith Island. In this shot it is entering ribbon cloud just above Craigleith Island. A small cruise ship the MSC Lirica can be seen silhouetted just to the left of Berwick Law.
Made Explore #477 on 8th October.
The highline at Rockwood on the Durango and Silverton takes some beating. Former Rio Grande K28 no 478 heading a Silverton bound photo freight along the ledge in late September 2008.
We've been blessed with some cooler weather this week! It's a wonderful break from the normally oppressive heat & humidity this time of year. You can see the cooler weather in the sky. Look how crisp & clear everything is!

This beautiful tree is huge, overlooking Broken Bay. On the left flowering in pink is an eriostemon.
I realise it doesn't look so impressive, but it's a stitch of 12 wide angle shots necessary to get it all in (including some more at the top and right).
This juvenile eagle took off directly towards me as I was splashing in the ocean water trying to keep my camera steady :-)
An image of a truely amazing sunset over Roermond, The Netherlands.
Photographed from one of Roermond's many harbours to get some nice silhouettes.
No photoshop used for this picture!!
The August 3, 2013 Red Barns Spectacular at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan.
1915 Ford Model T chassis with a C-Cab Panel Delivery body built by Richard's Custom Designs of Battle Creek, Michigan as a beautifully decorated Coca Cola delivery van. The miniature reproduction was also built by Richard, with a lawnmower engine for power. The workmanship on both is astonishing.

It is spectacular what a little wind & snow can produce. This drift is along the fence line, and it is 6 feet at its highest point and curves dramatically around our back deck. Mother Nature is truly phenomenal!
Spectacular Sunset shot from Yosemite's Tunnel View. When we pulled in, nothing was really visible; heavy fog covered everything. Patience definitely paid off. We waiting along with about 3 dozen or more Photographers and the fog did eventually lift to give us a Spectacular Sunset. via 500px ift.tt/2gEpHWl
These orchids are spectacular and make me joyful every time I see them. So colorful, exotic, sensual and even a bit erotic. Nature has so many ways of expressing beauty and harmondy.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I want to say I acquired this shirt very early on into my adult doll collecting journey. This distinctive top has an old school Barbie tag inside. So it wasn't difficult to identify after spotting it. Sadly, I didn't acquire any of the other clothing bits from this set. This top does match other bottoms though, so I could definitely use it if I really wanted to. It's super classy, especially on a curly haired 80s Barbie. I cannot recall exactly which lot this top came from anymore...I've had it so long it feels like I've owned it forever! My favorite detail has to be the streaks of colors all over the shirt. This reminds me of something my grandmother would have worn to a fancy occasion of sorts.
The sky was on fire as we passed through the rain in the previous photo, which looked like this as we came through the other side of it. A brief rainbow and the occasional lightning strike in the distance punctuated this scene, which was probably the best display of sunset mammatus I've ever seen!
Let's go back to the Southsea Spectacular bus rally held on Southsea Common on a very sunny Sunday in June 1981, now over 36 years ago!!
Present that day was Eastern National 1953 Bristol KSW6G / ECW O33/28R open-topper 2382 WNO483. Sadly, just 2 months later this bus was destroyed by arson at the Prittlewell depot.
I shot this sunset last fall, on the way home from Yosemite National Park.
