Last night's Sunset was amazingly Orange! There it is in the inset over Tanjung Mangsit on the left in the photo with Nusa Penida - an island between Bali and Lombok - on the horizon.
This morning I climbed again on those Mangsit Rocks. If you take a look in the ever refreshing and flushing rock pools with a thundering sea just a few metres away, you'll see lots of interesting things. Rock formations, sediments, crabs of various sorts and little fish, often Rock Skippers. Istiblennius - which one I don't know - is quite shy and Sony had to be very patient as I often awash in Brine crouched on rocks above one of those pools.
Sitting there quietly as Rana Pipiens behooves, I noticed how one of the Fishes I was watching would return to a rocky space time and again. It'd go off about 40 cm. away on a ledge, sit there for perhaps a minute and then skittle back for maybe 3 or 4 seconds. I wondered why.
I moved to another angle and then saw in that crevice what I presume are our Creature's eggs. Whether this is maternal or paternal oversight I don't know. Sony happily took a shot, and we hastened away under a Marine Spray.

So it is picture time for the teddies , I think they sat still long enough to get the shot , will have to wait and see when the film is developed . Hang on , this is a pano TZ60 and digital photography so we should see straightaway !! Have. a peep in the first comment box to see the teddies - think there has been a bit of messing with the space - time continuum !!

Discovered that Space-Time lenses increase visual photonic energy significantly. They give the eye-brain a place to rest and focus in an intricately complex setting. I believe our brains see them as ‘eyes’ and are drawn into their clear roundness searching for something...

Sorry, I really don't know where the front and the back of the ship went...or in which time they are now... I screwed it up. F..k!! People must wonder at the other side of my experiment too.
The colours of sunset illuminate the clouds at Martinique Beach.
Each 24 hours, planet earth spins on its axis towards the east at a constant rotational rate of a thousand miles per hour, while revolving in its orbit around the sun at a speed of 67,000 mph. The sun and earth together rotate in the Milky Way galaxy at a speed of 130 miles per second (468,000 mph), and the galaxy is moving through space at an astounding velocity of 1.3 million mph. Furthermore, apparently the fabric of space/time is expanding faster than the speed of light! Amazingly, a person taking a photo of the sunset has the impression that they are standing still, and the photo records only a slight motion blur in the incoming waves.
Macro Mondays: Abstract
White graph paper with purple light.

Happy Macro Monday!
I may just get myself a few of these for my eventual (but not imminent) departure from this space time continuum / parallel universe.
Come to think of it there may be a dimension wherein I am effin’ loaded and carry a gold plated Leica sporting f0.95 Noctilux glass.
Of course there’d also be a discreet bodyguard or two to help me hang on to said German exotica, guiding me safely to my Bentley convertible.
Now then does anyone have directions to to the nearest wormhole in space?
As everyone knows, Santa does NOT come down your chimney on Christmas Eve. Poppycock!
He does in fact have a SWS (Spacial Warp Sleigh). Using a unique warp key in each home (a personally decorated tree) he is able to lock onto the key's signature with his SWS and travel directly to the delivery zone, bending time and space along the way. Some boys and girls, who have been particularly well behaved throughout the year, are able to sometimes gain a fleeting glimpse of the yuletide pathway.
I took this shot from the corner of my eye.
For Macro Mondays Theme: Time.
Time frozen (a watch frozen in ice)
Yes another clock/watch (I am sure they will be many in today's theme) - I was working on some clever ideas around quantum mechanics and general relativity but my space-time fabric was not lending itself well to macros ;-)

The day in which you notice that she’s gone is like the day you learnt that Santa Claus didn’t exist. A dull grey day, the perfect ambient for any homo sapiens anchored in a space-time chaos, a day in which the words said run back to their owner stripped of every miracle. It’s a day in which you have the right to forget but also to remember that the truth is curved and the time is round. It’s a day in which you serenely blend a little of her non existence with a little of your life and lay the first brick between you and the infinite regression of the cause in a war of the suppositions. It’s a day in which you don’t have enough cigarettes and somebody’s deleted “Nothing else matters” from your playlist. Your favourite moment out of all moments was her. Every song suddenly starts to sound like this:

Blurred in space-time was the memory of this fiery carnival sardine. The imaginary messages that arrived have been running out. I am afraid that the images that I will continue to contribute, until the series is completed, will go without text. Unless, by chance, I have more information to share.)
Only minutes after I photographed the Aurora in my previous upload then this space/time rupture appeared causing all the light-beings to enter our universe!
Foreground and sky photographed separately using the same camera settings. The streaking stars were created by zooming out from 28 to 17 mm during the 25 sec exposure.

live some microbes on a speck of dust trapped by a glowing dot -- one of billions in a sea more vast than anything ever imagined. And their dramas flash by so fast in time measured in hundreds of millions of years that only a stop-motion camera can even capture bits and pieces of them. Lost in time and space -- yet preserved like fossils in that very web of space-time.

The Monks’ Mill in the Zippori Valley is a historic watermill associated with the Carmelite Order. It operated until the early 20th century and was supplied by a constructed aqueduct that transported water from Ein Yivka, located about two kilometers east of the site. The water flow was directed onto the upper level of the structure, driving vertical shafts and multiple grinding mechanisms distributed across two floors.
The existing building reflects later restoration work. According to information displayed on-site, the rehabilitation project was carried out by a private developer, with revenue divided among three parties: the Carmelite Church, the owner of the original mill structure, and the local community. Today, the Monks’ Mill is maintained as a heritage site along the Zippori stream

Happy New Year....
2020 is almost here.
Wait. A hummer perched on a rose bloom? And it seemed like 3 hummers were sharing. Strange. Perhaps they are still in the Holiday spirit?
The following text doesn't explain what we saw but it is an enjoyable read.
"...
Mainly it was the hummingbirds. They make little cherk noises, they roar around, they vroom. They hover in the light, their wings backlit and translucent, like tiny angels.
We’d hung a hummingbird feeder across the porch from the goldfinch feeder. Goldfinches fly to and from the feeder in looping catenaries. Hummingbirds don’t fly in, they apparently have warp drive – they simply appear out of thin air, feed, and disappear. Sometimes one changes places on the feeder by lifting straight up, backing up, moving sideways, landing, feeding again, lifting straight up again and then plinking right out of space-time. They’re just so enchanting.
The National Zoo says hummingbirds’ wings beat 70 times a second; their hearts beat 1,200 times a minute. Which must be the reason that I think they have warp drive – they’re living so much faster than me, they’re living on amped-up time. They’re not only fast, they’re durable; they migrate south for 18 to 20 hours straight. They manage this live-fast, go-hard style by going occasionally into small hibernations called torpor: I suspect I’ve seen this on a hummingbird cam at the University of Arizona, because sometimes that one baby conked out so thoroughly I thought the camera had frozen. When they wake up again, they go 30 mph; the males, says the National Zoo, go over 45 mph “during courtship dives.”
This is the first step into the dark side. Think about it: the male is heading straight for earth or a stunned female at 45 mph and pulls up at the last second. No female with her wits about her would mate with someone like that. But the females go ahead anyway because mating turns out to be no big deal: hummingbirds don’t pair-bond, the males don’t stick around, and the National Zoo says that any help the female might get with food and childcare “does not outweigh the burden of having a male around competing for food.”
This is the next step into the dark side. Sparrows and goldfinches share. Sparrows roam in small gangs, land in the same patch of grass, and hop around looking for bugs and comparing notes. Goldfinches won’t share feeders with sparrows but will with other goldfinches, in a pinch, even with other goldfinches of the same sex. Hummingbirds share feeders with no one.
A hummingbird is feeding, another hummingbird comes in, the first one chases it, staying on its tail like a jet fighter, straight up into the sky, and neither one comes back. Hummingbirds would rather go hungry than share feeders. The National Zoo explains that hummingbirds compete so fiercely for nectar because flowers take a while to re-stock and nectar is scarce. The National Zoo is either being kind or it’s wrong about Baltimore hummingbirds. Our neighborhood is dense with hummingbird feeders, five within rock-throwing distance, boundless bounty. A hummingbird is like the neighborhood cat that kills things — it’s not hungry, it just likes killing. A hummingbird isn’t going to go hungry, it just can’t stand knowing another hummingbird exists. Goldfinches and sparrows talk quietly among themselves; hummingbirds talk only to tell each other to get the fucking hell out of here and do it now.
Yesterday Erik wrote a wise and balanced post about a similarly uncivil bird: “It opens the door for something a little like redemption. Our selfishness, our greed for the best resources, this is a part of who we are. And by acknowledging that, by casting it into the light, it means that our worst natures don’t have to define us. We have the choice to be something better.” But Erik is talking about sibling rivalry which everyone knows is, at bottom, realistic and understandable behavior. And I’m talking about knee-jerk, misanthropic ill-will, no possible redemption whatever. My world would look kinder if I got them off the porch.
The only problem is, they’re so beautiful, so beautiful. Sometimes one materializes right where we’re sitting and hangs in the air like a thought, watching us, wondering whether we’re good to eat."

More of the same tonight just experimenting. Trying to find pleasing interplay with the light and looking for effects for future shots.
This represents two childhood toys. The first, tiny toy cars that we collected and played with for endless hours. Then later we got a real on. Actually this same model and color. Both times they transported us to a different world.
A powerful Great Horned Owl rests on a mossy alder branch deep in the forests of Whidbey Island, Washington. Its intense yellow eyes lock onto the camera with an expression that’s equal parts wisdom and unsaid warning.
Now, what if I told you that GHOsts like this one are capable of travelling time and space - Time Lords with talons, if you will. I can't be sure, but I think this owl has been intersecting with the timeline of my life at various points over the past decade, probably more than I'm aware of. I am always surprised when I see it, and somehow it never seems surprised to see me. This owl knows when and where I was born - it knows when, where, and how I will die.
Perhaps this is part of the Wisdom so often attributed to owls. The insight that everything that can or will happen has already happened, and will continue to happen again. The owl perches, motionless, for long periods of time. Glaciers retreat, carving out ocean beds. Countless species of animals evolve and go extinct. The owl has seen it all before - but is not indifferent. Suddenly, faster than you can blink, it leaps from its perch and captures a juvenile robin, swallowing it whole before you can even raise your camera.
On one hand, I feel for the robins, I really do - I think the American robin is one of the most seriously underrated birds working today. On the other hand, there are few deaths on this topsy-turvy Earth as merciful, and glorious, as to be dispatched and devoured by a Great Horned Owl.
Photographed in natural light, no flash, without baiting or disturbance.
This owl resides in the same neck of the woods as this sapsucker... youtu.be/gtAW8O-KxsA?si=J4q3C50xtoYTuJsX
