Not many people realise that Vincent had an evil twin brother called Barry who occasionally visits Earth through an inter-dimensional portal to wreak havoc in space-time, turning the land and sky into a Barry Van Goghian nightmare. This happened to me a few weeks ago on my way to work; unfortunately, it only lasted a few minutes and I was still on time to lead morning assembly in school. HSS, everybody! :)

ΠΥΡΓΟΣ ΚΙΤΡΙΝΙΑΡΗ ΚΑΤΩ ΑΠ ΤΟΝ ΕΝΑΣΤΡΟ ΟΥΡΑΝΟ.
Μεταξύ των χωριών Σαιδόνα και Ξοχωρίου της Μεσσηνιακής Μάνης, σε υψόμετρο 700 μέτρων βρίσκεται ο πύργος της οικογένειας Κιτρινιάρη. Η οικογένεια Κιτρινιάρη αναδείχθηκε σε πολυάριθμη και ισχυρή οικογένεια κατά την δεύτερη Τουρκοκρατία.
Ήταν λοιπόν φυσικό να υπάρχει και μια διασφάλιση των κεκτημένων με την ανέγερση ενός ισχυρού πύργου.
Η θέση που επέλεξε ο κτήτορας να χτίσει τον πύργο του είναι στρατηγικής σημασίας. Η θέα φθάνει μέχρι χαμηλά τα παράλια και ο τόπος ανέγερσης είναι βραχώδης και δυσπρόσιτος. Κατά πάσα πιθανότητα το συγκρότημα πρέπει να χτίστηκε γύρω στα 1786.
Τώρα το συγκρότημα του Κιτρινιάρη στην ερειπωμένη κατάσταση από την εγκατάλειψη και την φθορά του χρόνου έχει μόνο να διηγείται στον επισκέπτη λαμπρές στιγμές από την παλιά του αίγλη και κάτω από τον έναστρο και υπέρλαμπρο ουρανό δείχνει σαν παγιδευμένος στον χωροχρόνο!
KITRINIARIS CASTLE UNDER THE STARS
Between villages and Saidona Xochoriou of Mani, at an altitude of 700 meters is the tower of Kitriniaris family. The Kitriniaris family became a numerous and powerful family during the second Turkish occupation.
It was therefore natural that there is a safeguarding acquired by building a strong tower.
The location chosen by the founder to build the tower of strategic importance. The view reaches low coastline and the construction site is rocky and inaccessible. Probably the band must have been built around 1786.
Now the complex Kitriniari the ruined state of neglect and decay time has only to tell the visitor , glorious moments of its former glory and under the starry sky and brilliant shows like trapped in the space-time!

Darkness here is not a metaphor of terror or ignorance but a depiction of energy and matter we are unable to portray in our unified four-dimensional space-time.
Completely outstanding place, in both its architecture and its atmosphere. We are here in the reception hall. At first glance, the hall (around 17th century) looks rather symmetric. However, the base plan is tilted for about 12 degrees, to the left. The door to the garden is not in the middle, but slightly left. In this way, outside the chateau, the garden and central lane projected a longer view. Indeed, the whole garden is also tilted slightly to the left. The sun shadows through the door point (more or less) into the right direction. These where the tiny jokes made in those days and in this way, you step into another space-time (in one way, smarter and more charming than our own). While walking through the garden outside, you could realize that the best of the past is still with us, the beauty, the style, the harmony, it did not fade away.
Like a rift in the space time continuum. :-)

Happy Macro Monday. This week's theme is vowel ... here we the the Enterprise, as an Ornament ... both beginning in a vowel.
Liked the results here of the ornament that I suspended about 10 feet from the tree to get some isolation between the subject and the lights, creating some interesting bokeh with the lens at f/16.
I also captured this at ISO 800 to reduce the time of the exposure ... the dogs walking around and Mrs. Krach that was moving about was creating minor quakes in the space time continuum ... and longer exposures resulted in minor movement of the ornament suspended in the bokeh.
..and having said my goodbyes to mirna who was a most excellent travellling companion and made it back home safely ..i wondered where on earth i might be ...

Here, unlike most photos, I attempt a colour treatment. I have several of them in process. I sometimes hesitate between colour and monochrome. I have the impression of approaching a tipping point...

Busy and hot september morning.

The Universe is constantly expanding, and with it its dimensions.
In our reality we know height, width and length: the three dimensions of Space, which with Time give a total of four observable dimensions.
We cannot travel in time, since on our planet it is always linear and forward, we do not know it in any other way.
There was a man a few decades ago, who, taking measurements with his telescope, showed that the expansion of the universe is now slower than it was 1 billion years ago.
This leads to the theory that the expansion is not infinite.
Imagines that you stretch a rubber band and when you can't pull any more you release it. It contracts, it compresses again. This is the Big Crunch theory, according to which the expansion will at some point reverse course until all the elements that make up the universe and all matter are compressed into a space-time singularity.
What I mean by this, love, is that Time as we know it will happen just the other way around. And we will live again, from the end to the beginning, from the last farewell caress to the first timid, from the bitter loneliness to the bittersweet ignorance of your existence, from the light in the tunnel to the darkness in our room.
Of so many things that we have not yet experienced, which I now call the best years of my life.
There are those who offer the theory of the oscillating Universe, which says that after the Big Crunch a new Big Bang will take place. And I don't know how many possibilities quantum physics presents us that everything will happen again as it is happening, but I really hope that all the butterflies then give all the flutters that have been necessary for us to be here and now.

The Launceston General Post Office clock tower. If time is the fourth dimension, the trick here is to squeeze all four dimensions of space-time onto a two dimensional frame. I'll give you two examples of how this works.
A simple one first: That statue from the insurance building, a sign of familial protection, is seen in this two dimensional image as taller than the tower. We know that's not true in three dimensional space. So we take it for granted that from this angle the eye is lying to us and our brain makes the correction - the tower is taller.
Now what of the fourth dimension? This view is EXACTLY the same one a person standing here in 1910 would have had of this scene. So in fact the space hasn't changed. Only time has. The ONLY thing separating me from our 1910 observer is 112 years of passed time. And if there's a "wrinkle in time" would I see their ghost? Do our senses lie to us? And why doesn't our brain make the correction?

Alicja Kwade's works are based on concepts of space, time, science and philosophy. They are primarily sculptural objects, public outdoor installations, but also video and photographic works. Kwade attaches particular importance to pure materials such as gold, copper, coal, stone and wood, as well as symbolically charged everyday objects such as clocks and lamps as a reference to aspects of time, energy and matter. She combines these elementary materials and culturally influenced objets trouvés in her conceptual-precise and always poetic-magical arrangements. She succeeds in presenting the seemingly obvious as deceptive and irritating the viewer's perception.
This method allows viewing the vast, incredibly complex construction process in one 2-dimensional picture.
