Plastic picnic plate space time continuum, the push and pull and tensions of light across the visible spectrum, who knows what tensions lie beyond?
I'm not totally sure what creates these contrails of tiny bubbles in the ice puddles that hold fast last year's leaves. Maybe it has to do with the bounce of temps off afternoon warmed canyon walls to drops below freezing at night in between the tight canyon walls. Maybe it has to do with evaporation or molecular changes or wind. By the time I return to check its evolution, it will have turned its face away from its former self and joined with other water molecules in travels through space, time, desert sand, the river, and the water that I am.
Everything is relative is cute epistemology.
Quantum paradoxes were in good company.
Einstein’s and Freud’s intuitions welcomed the start of the contemporary era as we know it.

Lookin' at this soaring sculpture one shoudn't be surpised that the artist was inspired by Cubism and Mondriaan. And indeed. In a way it's remarkable that Escher is not considerd to have been of influence on Baljeu.
The sculpture is owned by the R'dam CBK. It was transported to Amsterdam for the ArtZuid exposition here from the R'dam Alexanderpolder quarter.

This mystical, utopian city, whose good-looking inhabitants characterized by the absence of facial philtrum, apparently exists on a parallel realm accessed thru space-time gateway portals. The avant-garde, high-tech, level-up society already mastered harnessing and is enjoying the benefits of free cosmic energy. Sometimes when it manifests itself - the said surreal nocturnal city - is a sight to behold.
The title is a pun. There is a theory that space does not expand continuously or constantly but that it fluctuates. "UBC researchers Qingdi Wang and Bill Unruh tackle the question in a new study that tries to resolve a major incompatibility between quantum mechanics and Einstein’s theory of general relativity.
Wang’s calculations provide a completely new physical picture of the universe, one in which the space we live in is fluctuating wildly. At each point, it oscillates between expansion and contraction. As it swings back and forth, the two almost cancel each other but a very small net effect drives the universe to expand slowly at an accelerating rate. This is a new idea in a field where there hasn’t been a lot of new ideas.
“Space-time is not as static as it appears," This has been labelled Accordion theory.

I've got several folders full of photos that have not yet made the flickr "cut". It's not that they're bad images or that they displease me. The problem is that at any given moment, they just don't seem to fit in. And for me, the concept of fitting in is a moving target. What fits today may not fit tomorrow. And when something finally does fit, it may be totally too late. Just like a witty comeback that does not occur until days after someone says something to you. For me it's often a seasonal issue involving, for example, winter photos that seem wholly out of place once spring arrives. I prefer my photostream reflects the current moment, at least visually in terms of time of year. It's one of many limitations I place upon publication of photos that fortunately has no impact on my creation of them.
This photo's moment finally arrived this morning. A sunset view of nascent winter wheat, barely three inches tall, but appearing to tower under a twilight sky. I love seeing the individuality of the thin stalks. They work together to provide a monolith of green when viewed from a distance. Yet up close, each one seems to express its own shape and character. As always, shooting scenes of vibrant color under diminished lighting appeals to my sense of understating the obvious aspect in favor of a lesser one. It's my way of fitting in.
Playing around in Lightroom with a flower shot and suddenly I feel like I'm spinning into the vortex of new dimension. Does anyone else hear the Dr Who theme?

Baking or aluminium foil. The facial surface gives a lot to think about. It is not just a personal or social and not even simply a historical affair. The face and its expression is like an imprint in the imaginary foil which surrounds the space-time continuum. The face answers and responds to the cosmos. If there is a creator, here is the face that says 'here I am, talk to me!'
The consciousness below thee is ever-expanding
in different ways from those known to thee.
Aye, it, though in space-time below thee,
is ever growing in ways that are different from
those that were part of the ways of thine own.
For know that it grows as a result of thy growth
but not in the same way that thou didst grow.
The growth that thou had and have in the present
have brought into being a cause and effect.
No consciousness follows the path of those before it,
else all would be repetition and vain.
Each consciousness in the cycle it exists in
follows its own path to the ultimate goal.
Each plays its part in the Plan of the Cosmos.
Each plays its part in the ultimate end.
The farther the cycle, the greater its
knowledge and ability to blend the Law of the whole.
