I didn't see too many of SP's SD70Ms on Tehachapi but I did catch 9801 and sister 9807 along with a CSX unit at Woodford in August of 1997
Poor mason bees when this wasp lay her eggs in their nests. I have seen several of this wasps at the bee hotel...
An SP drops down the hill from Hiland with an all SP consists. When this shot was taken 6 of 86 that was pretty rare. Most trains had some sort of pool or run through power in the consist.

Previously I had this species listed as Tyromyces vitellinus but recent DNA testing now identifies it as a Wrightoporiopsis sp.

Here is a spider that lives in a grasstree. It lives among the fronds moving up and down, often backing down like a car into a garage.
Two days ago I was lucky enough to see two males on the same grasstree having a little stouche. I think I disturbed them so they moved off quickly.

SP 3792 was built in April 1957 as SP 5797. It would be upgraded in 1976 and be renumbered to 3792. 3792 is seen here in SPSF colors at Denver during the early 1990s.

SP 3010 is a steam boiler equipped passenger GP9 often assigned to the "Sacramento Daylight" which ran between Sacramento and Tracy California. Here my dad has captured the 3010 between runs on the Daylight sitting adjacent to the Tracy engine shops.
