Hohenbuehelia sp. Tentative I.D. This specimen 7 cm across. Older specimens nearby up to 10 cm. but most specimens 3-5 cm. Cheepi Ck., Cairns.
Various Marasmius sp. including Marasmius haematocephalus in the center. Marasmius sp. are usually numerous in a decent season but have been very scarce due to the El Nino . My block.

SP 3792 was built in April 1957 as SP 5797. It would be upgraded in 1976 and be renumbered to 3792. 3792 is seen here in SPSF colors at Denver during the early 1990s.

Several of these massive rolling billboards have found a home mingling with other legacy equipment in South Janesville. A couple were sitting in a nice location and it was too hard for me to pass up the opportunity.
For those who care, this is SSW 65057.
BNSF Warbonnet and SP Speed Lettering liveries meet at Lake Yard in Portland. That GP60 is patched, but the nose was left entirely clean! It's used on the Portland Terminal switch job based out of Lake.
SP 3010 is a steam boiler equipped passenger GP9 often assigned to the "Sacramento Daylight" which ran between Sacramento and Tracy California. Here my dad has captured the 3010 between runs on the Daylight sitting adjacent to the Tracy engine shops.

so much for happy photos of excitement. i found out my car is basically toast. it makes things harder to get a new one. not sure what will happen. hopefully nothing too drastic will have to happen.
i just want to curl up and sleep today.
Southern Pacific Railroad GP35R 6309 at Phoenix, Arizona on an unknown day in October 1979, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as road number 7471 in May 1964 ( c/n 29557 ) on EMD Order 5669, it became 6583 after the 1965 systemwide renumbering, and was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen to GP35R 6309 sometime during 1978.

UP 6290, one of the few remaining SP-painted AC4400's leads the MDMHN westbound on the UP Kansas Sub in Topeka. This is at MP 67, right next to Porubsky's, and it'll soon hang a left onto the ex-RI Golden State Route. For added interest here, SD60M "triclops" #2414 was fourth out in this consist.
Former Southern Pacific GE AC4400 patched 6310 leads Canadian Pacific train 281 through Morton Grove IL.

Ganoderma sp. growing on root system of a very large celerywood tree [ polyscias elegans] that went down in high winds recently. My block.
This particular tree was one of approx. 3000 rainforest trees that I planted in the early 1980's & about 20 yrs. ago two Papuan frogmouths nested in this tree for 3 years.
