Otiorhynchus sp. (possibly opulentus) weevil found in an afternoon in the Retezat mountains. Active and tricky but I've had luck and enough patience to mess with him.

Scorpionfly from the Order Mecoptera, Family Bittacidae in our garden.
The male Scorpionfly has caught a caterpillar to entice a female and will give the gift after mating is complete.
While they have a common name of Scorpionfly they are not flies as they have 4 wings instead of two.
An SP GP38-2 works a local in Bakersfield but if one looks closely you can she the evidence of other battles fought. It looks like this unit has battled many a snow pack on Donner Pass in her former glory. March 2000

Nu de dagen van de treinstellen type Icm (koploper) geteld zijn is het een mooi moment terug te kijken in welke uitvoeringen dit treinsteltype gehad heeft. Deze collage geeft een overzicht van vele van deze uitvoering, maar zeker niet alle uitvoeringen.
ICM 4004 als intercity van Nijmegen naar Amsterdam komt door het voormalige station van Maarn gereden op weg naar Utrecht.

It was interesting seeing this fly laying her eggs on a garden plant one evening.
The males have yellow on their heads, the females silvery white.
They feed on our daisies in the garden.
