While a breakthrough camera in its day, its fame was very short-lived when Nikon introduced a more full featured autofocus SLR. Few of the T80's were produced and they were only in production for about a year. These cameras used the FD mount system so you could use the AF lenses on manual focus cameras and your manual lenses on the AF T80 body.
I never had the opportunity to buy the original Matchbox Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren as it had a short life but fast forward to 2017 and the situation was very much reversed, they were everywhere! Firstly ASDA of course and then Poundworld though the majority of mine came from the former. A sensational little model dripping in prestige and glamour. Mint and boxed.

RAF Museum, Hendon. Hawker Tempest V.In 1941 discussions were held about the need to improve the Hawker Typhoon. The re-design was so radical and the hanges so significant, than in early 1942, the resultant aircraft was changed from Typhoon II to Tempest. The prototype Tempest flew on September 2nd 1942. The first units to equip with the Tempest V in 1943 used the aircraft's long range to operate well into Northern Europe attacking airfields, radar installations and transport facilities in France and the Low Countries. The tempest was used as a fighter. Its speed meant it was also used to defend the UK against the V Weapons. During the period 13 June to 5 September 1944, Tempest Vs accounted for 638 V weapons destroyed out of the RAFs total of 1,771 destroyed.

I got this one from an op shop (thrift store) it was in a sorry state, covered in what looked like rust. I got it so that I could have a go at repairing it. It ended up only needing a good clean (rust will come off with a light rub of steel wool if a camera is brushed steel). It works well (now) and is nice to hold. It's not overly heavy but feels sturdy.

Many collectors including myself had started to believe that Motormax no longer bothered making licensed 1/64 models anymore. The vast majority of their products found here were of the deliberately generic kind and indeed still remains so vying for peg space with HTI's very own take on cheap unrealistic diecasts!
Happily they do continue with a smallish range of licensed miniatures though genuinely new castings appear VERY infrequently these days sadly. Apart from John Lewis the only other U.K. retailer that I know of which stocks these decent alternatives to HW and MBX is TK Maxx who currently have a selection of multi-sets though probably not for long of course. Inevitably there were a few duplicates in these sets including this rather swish looking Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Not quite as polished as the MBX equivalent but well cast and nicely detailed for its budget status. Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

"Make me an offer", the eBay post said. I did and I got what looks like an unused camera. It wasn't advertised as such, bu tit's in terrific condition. The only thing is that the past owner must have been a heavy smoker. The camera reeked from tobacco smoke.
I believe the camera was made by Voigtlander, but I'm not sure about the lens. I also have a 28mm f 2.8 lens.
