Playing around with slow exposures and ICM, thought the way the light patterns through the trees gave a sort of eerie feel, like they were whispering to each other...

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR LIKES AND COMMENTS IT'S SO APPRECIATED :)

Some 10 stop exposure work from the very popular venue, taken at the end of the year, the composition gives great depth to the image, hope to get some spectacular shots from here this year

Determined to get out today and with a 10+ metre tide and a 2 minute walk i arrived here but 5 minutes later the water was gone, so much to shoot regarding these structures plus the weather too.

Perfect conditions to express a sense of calm, what better than to use my grad filters to slow things right down, best viewed large

Although I spend much of my time throughout the year photographing Dartmoor’s iconic tors, this type of landscape work was quite different to my usual and very rewarding too. For once, it felt good not to have to concern myself with the sky, which can often make or break a shoot when out on the open moorland. In fact, if I’d been on the tors today, it would have been a non-starter. Fortunately, the woodland environment was entirely different and offered numerous photographic opportunities. In total, I walked away with four carefully composed frames. Not bad for three hours of photography! Thanks for looking – Mk.

This is a fantastic location and one that I visited for the very first time today with my good friend Tony Higginson after wanting to find it for a couple of years or so now. Banishead Quarry has a waterfall (approx 80ft) that drops into the clear waters of below.

There's quite a difficult and dangerous climb down the side of the steep banking to reach the water's edge but if you're prepared to risk it, the reward awaits. The colours in the rocks are just amazing. Reds, yellows, oranges, greens, blues, they're all here. It's a really beautiful place to visit and it's only around a couple of miles from the car too.

I hope you all like it and feel free to SHARE and as always thank you for doing so.

Close up of the bottom of Kings Creek Falls in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

I wasn't totally happy with the overall shots I got shooting this fall in evening light. I think I need to go back in the wee hours of the morning to get the sun behind me. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, a blog post from the entire hike is here, should anyone care to look...

I've been waiting a while to capture this compostion. Strong north westerly winds made it impossible to experiment with slow exposures. Wind & sea spray are never a good combination for this type of work !!! Hope you aii think it was worth the wait ?

If this looks somewhat familiar to you, you've probably seen a similar shot posted by fellow waterfall hunter dsmphoto. If you are of strong mind and free spirit, check out his photography here.

What I love about photographing in tidal locations, is every day the textures in the sand change with the ebb and flow of the tide.

I am not a great fan of the long exposure calm milky sea look , but having said that I did take a few yesterday (trying out ND filters purchased long ago and never used) at Caister on Sea . I had planned to go the day before but rain stopped play. Yesterday the wind was raging. and the sun was exceedingly bright. Perhaps it should be a personal quest this photographic year to find different ways of using the long exposure.

LARGE View On Black

this is not topical, just trying to be poetic:-)

I should of posted this one last autumn but never got round to it, so as we are progressing through autumn it seems a good time to post it

Another of Aira Beck the other day. Debris gathers at the narrowest point of the beck on its journey to Ullswater.

Cuckmere Haven, East Sussex, England.

Another perspective of Haven Brow from my February shoot. This particular image was taken a little further back as I was drawn to the curve of the pebbled bank and the groyne running across the out flowing River Cuckmere.

Thanks for viewing:-)

Long Beach is a modest flat surf beach just north of Batemans Bay NSW. There are some mildly interesting rock formations, particularly at low tide. This one is at the junction of Long Beach and Maloneys Beach. The morning light from the left hitting the rocks really brought out their colour just for a few minutes before the sun got too high. The Tollgate Islands are in the left background.

Dunstanburgh Castle is a 14th-century fortification on the coast of Northumberland in northern England, between the villages of Craster and Embleton.

This particular view point is the approach from Embleton which provides some nice foreground detail with the incoming tide as it covers the black basalt boulders.

Thanks for viewing :-)

This one taken through the trees with the snow behind, quite liked the slightly spooky feel to this... :)
