At the entrance of Tokyo Midtown where people of all ages wander to wonder on the gigantic display of illumination. These strings of crystals with changing-color lights is the star.

This old boat has no engine and is just left to the elements, with some high tides lately the boat was surrounded by a higher than normal bank of sand, and a bit tricky to reach this time of year, due to the soft sinking sand in certain areas.

Love these rock formations on Carlyon Bay beach..... lucky for me the beach is only five minutes from my gallery in Charlestown. Hope you are all keeping well.......

Beautiful deserted beach at Watergate Bay......just how I like it !!! Always look forward to your comments.... have a great day.

Decided on Caldy Beach Tonight, standing in the mud waiting for the very low tide to cover these wooden structures, had some nice light for a change at this location, it is usually grim.

Back to Whitsand Bay in South East Cornwall, which I visited earlier in the year. The tide and wind direction were ideal for this small beach at Portwrinkle. I really enjoy shooting and experimenting with shutter speeds, while the waves break up the beach. Hopefully I will post a couple more images from this day by the sea !!! For this shot I used a 6 stop ND filter + polariser.

This is a beach 5 minutes drive from me, which I have never found very inspiring.....so I set myself the challenge of visiting and not leaving until I had some useable images. Around half tide seemed to produce the best compositions at the West end of the beach. Comments most welcome...... have a great Sunday

The coastline of Cyprus near Ayia Napa.

I'm planning another trip to Boscastle in Cornwall soon, so I thought I would check through my archives and came across this image which I could not resist working on in B&W. Bostcastle is a lovely little harbour, which suffered horrific flooding in 2004, the floods caused devastating damage, and a remarkable job has been done to repair the harbour to its former glory. Check out You Tube if you would like to see footage of the floods.......have a great day.

I could not resist working on a mono version of this image. When taking the photograph, I felt the scene would look best in black & white......hope you like it.

I know.....it's that cloud inversion again !!! Having had several requests to post the colour version of this amazing sight.....here it is. For those of you not familiar with this image, please refer back to my first B&W version for details of this special morning. I was not sure about working on the colour image, but it has grown on me, and I hpoe you think it is worthy of some exposure.....feedback will be very much appreciated.

Great morning photographing the waves at Portwrinkle beach in Cornwall last March. I locked into this compostion and just kept shooting, as every frame was different. Beautiful day in Cornwall today.......hoping to get out with the camera tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

The light reflecting over the wet sand, along with the crisp silhouetted headland caught my eye for this shot.....hope you like it, and your feedback will be very much appreciated.

Another image from my Portwrinkle Beach shoot, this photo is looking the opposite way down the beach. I love this style of photography, as it offers so much potential..... just a case of studying the wave patterns, and keep shooting in the hope that you have captured the best wave. I always experiment with shutter speeds, and found that one second gave me the desired effect. Always look forward to your feedback.....have a great day.

I've been having a good old image deleting session in LR to free up some space, and came across this image. It was taken at Whitsand Bay in South East Cornwall, close to where I used to live. This is a location not visited by many people, referred to as the forgotten corner of Cornwall. It is well worth a visit though, and great for slow exposures with these surreal rock formations......Hope you all have a great weekend.

Back to one of my local beaches.....Pentewan Sands. Lucky for me this location is only five minutes drive from home. One advantage of all the rain we have had in Cornwall, is the freshwater channel flowing across the beach is more defined this year, and certainly helped me with setting up this composition. Shooting into the sun when there is enough cloud cover, really helps create more contrasty B&W images. Hope you all approve of this seascape, and your feedback will be very much appreciated..... Have a good day.

Another image from my visit to Carlyon Bay in Cornwall. I originally processed this image in colour, but felt these rugged rocks worked best in B&W......waiting for the snow that is due to hit us in Cornwall today !!!

Another image from Pentewan Sands in Cornwall. I find the key to capturing this style of photograph is to shoot towards the sun on a cloudy day with diffused sunlight, and lots of contrast. This shot was taken around an hour after sunrise, and at low tide with beautiful virgin sand, and no footprints from the morning dog walkers !!!

10 second exposure at f8, 6 stop ND Grad filter, 2 stop ND soft grad, Polariser. Focal length 19mm. Canon 5D Mk3, 16 -35 lens

Have a great weekend all....

Great fun photographing the waves on an incoming tide at Portwrinkle beach in south east Cornwall.... this is a much quieter part of Cornwall, and well worth visiting if you are in the area. Have a great weekend all.

Another visit to Porthcothan beach in Cornwall.....amazing how the landscape is transformed during blue hour. It's a case of photographing later and later to avoid the crowds during this heatwave. I will have to walk further along the coast path to find some quieter locations. Have a great day all.......

Thinking up titiles is more difficult than processing the images !!!! Another capture from Whisiderry beach, this time looking the other way. Great beach to visit if you are in Cornwall.....not far from Newquay. Beautiful sunny morning in Cornwall today.

This has been sitting on my computer for a few months, i watched photographers going for the harsh sunset, but this light and colour was much better as the sun set behind me.

A long exposure image processed to give a feeling of it being painted.

I keeping coming back to this image taken at Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall, back in March. I'm still not convinced about the compostion, but felt it was worth some exposure on Flickr......your feedback will be most appreciated to remove my mental blockage over this image !!! Have a great Sunday.

Another visit to Pentewan Sands in Cornwall. I've found the key to this composition is timing shooting around mid-tide, when curves start to appear in the surf, this creates a nice leading line towards the headland. Your feedback is always appreciated.

I'm not a great lover of vignetting but other than cropping an image i think it suits this poor old boat, i tend to do this effect to highlight the main point of interest and not the clutter which surrounds it, sheldrakes is a very hard place to get a decent image, you cannot get a solitary boat without half a dozen masts protruding into your shot. I get asked quite a few times about my processing, i have merged images before to create a subtle H.D.R. but this has my usual slow exposure sky feature, combined with NIK colour efex pro and viveza software. I know it won't appeal to everyone but i do like the effect myself.

Just getting around to uploading this shot, one of my trademark LE exposures of my favourite subject, Boats.

Another visit to Towan Headland Newquay, which has great rock formations. Shot this image at dusk.....my favourite time to photograph. Hope you all have a great weekend......

Getting a sharp image is usually top of my priority when photographing up close with these boats, but with a fair old wind blowing across the beach i had some slight movement on the swinging chain and rope, but it hasn't put me off posting it.

Another image from a great evening at Perran Sands. The sun was close to dipping below the horizon, and was nicely defused by some cloud cover. This stlye of photography gives me more pleasure than any other, and I particularly enjoy the post processing in B&W, as I feel it allows you more creative freedom than working in colour. Your feedback will be most appreciated.
