Just as I was taking the last shot on my card my daughter walked by with her purple jacket.

Scarlet Darter (Crocothemis erythraea) - male

Yeah I know it's not the best of photos, but it'll do for me right now.

We went out looking for Red-veined Darters and Lesser Emperor, which we found. However this eclipsed both in Broad Scarlet style.

A lifer for me and a great sighting for the UK

Mosaic mirror in blue and white china

Not really "of" anything. I just liked the lines. It's actually the wooden planks with lifting hoops they use to temporarily bridge a canal under a bridge when maintenance needs doing. By the Macclesfield Canal near Bosley, Cheshire

Only after processing the RAW file I discovered that I had included the moon in this shot..... Taken in front of Hotel Ibis Schiphol Netherlands

Oil on canvas, 50 x 70 cm, 2020. Imaginary portrait of a boy floating on the water. The uncertainty of the image induces the viewer to think about a boy swimming in the sea as well as about a memory from a dream, where the base concept is the fusion among the subject and the environment, a deep unity between things, where boundaries disappear.

This original painting is available for sale at the price of 1350 US$, shipping is worldwide free. Contact me in case you are interested in more information about my work.

A snowy mountain in one of the most southern parts of Spain, a rare find.

While in Spain during the winter months of 2017, I happened across the snowy peak of the Sierra Bermeja mountain which sits at 1,449m tall.

This mountain in particular is the second biggest in the entire world formed of a specific volcanic rock with a red hue, giving this mountain range its iconic ''Bermeja'' (Vermilion) name. The rarity of mountains made of this particular type of rock has led Sierra Bermeja to be home to some endemic species of flora and fauna, the Pinsapo being chief among them.

It is an area that has undergone major volcanic activity; the rocks are rich in the olivine mineral. Rainwater has oxidised the iron and magnesium present in the rocks and the iron oxide has coloured the rock reddish-ginger.

The Butterfly Finger:

Five years ago yesterday in Kingsbury Water Park this butterfly fluttered and fell from high in an oak tree.

Landing in my hand it was seemingly unharmed but possibly in a drunken stupor. Capable of crawling and opening its wings it showed no fear while I photographed it.

Life can be stranger than fiction!

By the way, I didn't do any color correction on this photo. I just lomo-ized it in PS, nothing else.

She asks that to everybody, the cheeky thing!

I'm happiest now when I'm out not looking for anything in particular. Having an open mind to whatever nature has to offer. I do spend quite a bit of time turning leaves, rolling logs and listening for slight sounds that reveal birds and other wildlife. I found about twenty Northern Redbacked Salamanders this day....and one Slimy which I was terribly exited about. I was sorry it slipped away before I could get a picture but I was glad to have seen it at all.

I went to the Ed Sheeran concert in Dublin on Jan 11th, and I was looking through my pictures and found this one which I took by accident, and I actually fell in love with it.
