Jumeira Beach, named after the Jumeirah district of Dubai, is a stretch of beach ten miles south of Dubai where developers are creating large hotel resorts and luxury housing. Also built here is the Burj Al Arab (Arab Tower) hotel.
The Wild Wadi Water Park, the luxurious Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the old-style Madinat Jumeirah, all owned by the Jumeirah hotel chain, are in this area.

Just for the fun of it - some drawing inks went for a walk on the page and I doodled on top.

In the mix of the liveliness of my visiting grandchildren I grasp solitary, private moments. In the distance they played. Beside the lake I walked. Caught among high weeds, a feather of fine lines, splendid in its golden light, became a one-man art show. writenow.wordpress.com/2016/09/16/day-2-of-16-with-the-gr...
I didn't expect such a surprising photo-op as this on today's Hesketh Park walkabout.
Thanks a lot, you two. All best wishes and I hope you like it when/if you see it.

Xray film in caffenol by Calumet 4x5 monorail cam. "Horizon" due to merging two partial scans of the negative in PSE. Technically a failure, but I like this shot myself.

Between the horde of other visitors and the harsh midday light, my first visit to Garrapata State Park was nearly a photographic bust. This little guy saved the day by landing right in front of me while I was waiting for a clear view towards the beach, and posing for one quick shot before flying off again.

Serendipity is the effect by which ones accidentally discovers something fourtunate, especially while looking for something entirely unrelated~as i did here.
If you're not a resident, the narrow streets of Florence can be a rabbit warren. We were headed in the wrong direction and were reversing our footsteps when we came upon this scene.
Hadley brought home the remains of his friend’s refrigerator provisions today. The first thing I pulled out of the cooler was this onion bagel. Now I hate onion in every form. But it was total serendipity to get a round object that I could alter for my ODC: part of a circle
When I first got started in digital photography back in 2006, I attended a seminar hosted by Canon gurus George Lepp and Rick Sammon. After viewing a slide show of some of Mr. Lepps images one of the students commented that you are so lucky to have taken so many beautiful images. Mr. Lepp replied that he like to use the term serendipity rather than luck. Luck he said is a term which implies a completely random and unplanned event where as serendipity is more anticipating that something good is going to happen and being prepared to capture it when it does.
I arrived at this location at around 2 pm and set up my gear, then I sat drinking cold malted beverages, smoking fine Honduran cigars and clicking the shutter every now and then as the sun slowly sank into the western sky. The light would change every 5 minutes or so and just before the sun dropped below the horizon a beam of light shot through the trees to my right and lit up the rocks just behind the log in the foreground illuminating the eye of serpent log.
